Poor Luke Finding out he had a daughter and because he didn't know how the handle it, he also lost the love of his life...

Aside from Scott's looks, charisma (meant to be all-encompassing body and soul!), L/L's chemistry, and Luke's backwards baseball cap and flannel shirts (!), Luke is THE quintessential mensch! Sometimes he's grouchy, negative, or rants ... but if he's wrong, he always makes up for it later. He has total integrity through and through. He always does the right thing. He never turns his back on family. Though he absolutely would see April in those terms, he loves Lorelai like no one else, and there's absolutely no way by the end of S6 that he'd risk losing her. Who didn't know he'd be back in 7.01 (7.02 at latest) sorry he'd blown up with the ultimatum (what guy wouldn't?!) ... really sorry for not having balanced the Lorelai/April thing ... and this time, he proposes! Two wake-up calls - the diner crash, and the fact that Lorelai's serious about breaking up.

ARMCHAIR! My idea ... someone - Sookie, Rory, Lane and Zack, etc. ... sees Luke on the verge of losing Lorelai after the ultimatum, and shows him the video of Lorelai's breakdown at Lane's wedding. Maybe Zack! - maybe they kept the "out-take." Luke finally understands how much pain Lorelai's been in ... + he's been so wrapped up with April that for the first time, he didn't pick up on the signs that Lorelai was upset. They remember their pledge to be honest with one another ... he's sorry he broke it with April - and that he kept her at arm's length; she realizes she didn't communicate how hurt she was until exploding (even though it was so obvious!) How often does that happen between couples? Plus, she wanted to honor his need for "space" and to give April adjustment time. Reconciled by 7.03 at the latest!! Oh - and in 7.01, Lorelai slept with Chris but she got drunk, passed out, and they didn't have sex. Luke could find out some time and there's a small arc.... Anna still objects to April spending time with Lorelai even after L/L are married (under the chuppah, natch!) ... putting up a barrier btw. L/L - another arc - 1/3 to 1/2 season at most. In S8 Rory goes to grad school in Chicago, volunteers at Obama HQ, and visits home frequently. Meanwhile there are more (half-) Gilmore girls - Lorelai has twin girls!!! (Beginning of S8 = virtually the same as beginning of S3 - except this time it's real!) Anna moves to SW but April wants to stay with Luke ... custody battle ... another part-time, quasi-Gilmore girl. With Liz and her baby girl, and Lane back at work, Luke's swamped w/ females! Lorelai decides to open the Dragonfly spa - more fireworks with Emily. At end of S8 Rory and Logan split up - their lives are headed in different directions. Last 4 words - Rory (now single) tells Lorelai: "I'm having a baby!"

Next career ... I'm sure Hollywood needs writers and showrunners right about now!!! Unfortunately for you guys/fortunately - for viewers(!) I wouldn't cross that picket line!

Ever since I saw "Super Cool Party People," I always tried to imagine a scenario when Luke would watch the video from Lane and Zach's wedding and he would see how hurt Lorelai was by his actions.

Right behind Lorelai's "I've only ever loved Luke" confession, that's the other moment I wish LL would share with each other. I think Luke had a lot of doubts about Lorelai's feelings for him post-Partings....but if he could have seen that video, her breakdown w/ Emily & her talk with the therapist, yea. *sigh* Ah, I remember the days before I completely was spoiled and still held out optimism that LL would communicate at some point. Communication was always their fault (not surprising, seeing as they couldn't communicate their love for each other for 8 years!)...it's frustrating that that's something that was an issue to the very end (oh 7.21). I remember when DR said S7 was suppossed to make LL better ready for a relationship and although I was never of the belief that Chris had to be dealt with, fine, he's 100% out of the picture now. But their communication should have been dealt with. I think I need to read some of FB,FW now
