In an episode set three years in the past, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) visits Peyton (Hilarie Burton) in Los Angeles with an offer that will change their relationship forever. Under pressure from Victoria (guest star Daphne Zuniga), Brooke (Sophia Bush) must make a difficult decision about the future of her clothing line. Whitey (guest star Barry Corbin) is concerned when Nathan’s (James Lafferty) temper flares on the night of the college basketball championship. Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) struggles to balance the pressures of school and being a new mom. Lee Norris and Antwon Tanner also star. Liz Friedlander directed the episode written by Terrence Coli.

Really? I know the episode description says Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) visits Peyton (Hilarie Burton) in Los Angeles with an offer that will change their relationship forever.... But, I have this strange feeling that Lucas is going to propose to Brooke. Or maybe Lindsey. But not Peyton.

In the commercial, you see this dark-haired girl kissing Lucas. I couldn't tell if it was his editor/girlfriend Lindsey or Brooke. Her hair was in the way. Anyway, then you see him talking to Brooke and asking her if she ever thought she chose the wrong path. Now, viewers might think it's because he and Peyton broke up, but I think maybe he means he chose wrong by choosing Peyton over Brooke.

Then you cut to several cleverly-edited scenes:

1. Peyton sitting on top of a pool table [I think?] looking a little shell-shocked
2. a clip of Peyton telling Lucas I LOVE YOU
3. Lucas saying, "You're the one I want to be with,"
4. Back to Lucas and Peyton on the basketball court [I think] and Lucas doesn't look like he's about to share some good news with Peyton
5. Then Lucas brings out the ring, "Will you marry me?"
6. Peyton's face looking stunned.

When Lucas says, "You're the one I want to be with", he's wearing a blue shirt and tie. If you look really carefully at the edge of the screen, you'll see a dark brown curl, which is why I think he was talking to Brooke, not Peyton. Then when he pulls out the ring, he's still wearing the same shirt and tie, consistent with his "You're the one..." speech. Again, that's why I think he's proposing to Brooke [or Lindsey], but not Peyton.

Of course, I could be totally and completely wrong about everything and that scene was really Lucas proposing to Peyton in the flashback! Her stunned face could just mean she was surprised by the proposal. OR, if the proposal is in present-day Tree Hill, then Lucas must have told her that he was moving on with Brooke [or Lindsey] and she wasn't expecting to hear that, either.

I guess we'll find out tonight! I can't wait either!!!

Yay! I can't wait for tonight's episode. I think it'll be really interesting to sort of see how everyone got where they are.

is it an Iphone? i just thought it was an advanced telephone. either way, doesn't matter. we all know OTH's strong points aren't involving continuity.

the song has been played in a previous OTH episode, so yeah, in OTH time it is that old lol

If they are on the timeline that they should be, 3 years in the past for OTH is 2007 or 2008, depending on if they were they the graduating class of '06 or '07....
but then again, scott_family, is right, OTH has never been that strick with continuity
