Christopher MacDonald ("Cracking Up") has joined the No. 1 new drama of the summer, NORTH SHORE, for four episodes beginning Monday, July 26 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

NORTH SHORE is an ensemble series set at Hawaii's posh Grand Waimea Hotel, chronicling the dramatic differences between the wealthy guests and the hotel staff who cater to their every need.

MacDonald plays Walter Booth, a ruthless and sophisticated hotel magnate. Booth owns 12 luxury hotels around the world, but his most prized possession is his daughter, Nicole, played by Brooke Burns. Singled out by the New York Times as one of the hardest-working and most prolific actors in Hollywood, McDonald brings legendary characters to life with consistent acclaim. On television, McDonald recently starred for four seasons in the drama series, "Family Law." In the feature film world, he is currently filming "Syriana" starring George Clooney and directed by Steve Gagen. MacDonald can also be seen in "Speakeasy," "Grind" and "Children on Their Birthdays," based on the Truman Capote short story.

McDonald has played a wide variety of intriguing characters in more than 70 films, including the infamous Shooter McGavin in "Happy Gilmore." Additional film credits include "Spy Kids 2: The Lost Island of Dreams," the Coen brothers' "The Man Who Wasn't There," "Requiem for a Dream," "The Perfect Storm," "Nurse Betty," "Flubber," "Quiz Show," "Thelma & Louise," "The Skulls," "The Iron Giant," "The Faculty," "Five Aces" and "Grumpy Old Men."

Additionally, McDonald played Mel Allen in HBO's critically acclaimed baseball feature, "61*." FOX Hangs Nine on 'North Shore'
(Friday, August 13 10:19 AM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) FOX has locked another piece of its fall schedule, picking up a full season's worth of "North Shore."
The network has ordered nine additional episodes of the Hawaii-based show, bringing it to the standard full-season complement of 22. The series is on hiatus for the next three weeks for the Olympics and the two-hour premiere of "The Complex: Malibu" but will return with new episodes Monday, Sept. 6.

"'North Shore' is a fun, entertaining soap with a wonderful cast. The series continues to grow creatively, and we are looking forward to seeing what [the producers] have in store," FOX Entertainment president Gail Berman says. All three shows sound interesting. I've seen some promos for 'North Shore' and I might give it a try. 'ATHENS' sounds a lot like the O.C., so hopefully it doesn't get the awful tag of 'O.C. jr.' or something like that. 'The Inside', eh, well, I'll just wait and see.

It's interesting reading about North Shore. I'll definitely be watching. I'm such a huge Nikki DeLoach fan. Anyhow, Kristoffer Polaha's character is listed under different names. It's supposed to be Jason Matthews so I'm guessing Danny Peel was the original name before they switched it.

'The Inside' sounds really good. I'll at least give 'the north shore' a shot since FOX hasn't disappointed me before.

For North Shore,

If you guys haven't had a chance to go over to Fanbolt and look at the sides for the pilot yet, you really should.

There are a few more and the episode sounds REALLY good! Right off the bat, there is plenty of drama!

I'm going to check out North Shore only because the place it's filmed at is managed by the company my husband works for. The show is filmed at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, which is managed by Benchmark Hospitality. It's a relatively small hospitality company that manages about 25 hotels/conference centers. He works at a conference center in New York, the whole company is very excited.
