The critically acclaimed drama series "Nashville" returns for a third season. In the season two finale, Rayna was left at a crossroads with marriage proposals from both Luke, her superstar boyfriend, and Deacon, her first love and the father of her oldest child. Whom will she choose? And how will she navigate the turbulent road helming her own label, Highway 65? Juliette had lost the security of her newfound love with rising artist Avery, which foundered when she cheated on him with Jeff Fordham, the record label executive who has made no secret of his contempt for her. This season she will not only grapple with that heartbreak, but also with a pregnancy.

Will's sham of a marriage is cracking under the weight of his admission to his wife Layla that he's gay, and to the cameras of the reality show shadowing their every move. Will his burgeoning career be his salvation or an albatross? Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery continue to struggle to find their muses and voices within in the music industry, and the dynamics of their careers, friendships and search for love seems to shift continually.

Rayna's daughters, Daphne and Maddie, cope with their mother's engagement as well as her ever-increasing fame, while her ex-husband, Teddy, forms a shaky new alliance with Rayna's nemesis, Jeff Fordham.

"Music City" can mean so many things to different people. In Nashville, musicians and songwriters are at the heart of the storm driven by their own ambitions. Some are fueled by their creativity and passion for fame. Others struggle to cope with the pressures of success and doing everything in their power to stay on top.

"Nashville" stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Will Chase as Luke Wheeler, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Charles Esten as Deacon, Oliver Hudson as Jeff Fordham, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad and Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad.

Dee Johnson ("Boss," "The Good Wife"), "The War Room," "A Perfect Candidate"), Callie Khouri ("Thelma & Louise") and Steve Buchanan are executive producers of "Nashville." The series is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment.

To pick up from the last thread, I do think Rayna could get emotional for a second when the liver doesn't pan out, but then she'll be back to normal and we'll never hear about it again. She'll move on to convincing Beverly and it'll be back to regular take charge, fix-it Rayna.

I feel like we're going to get much more of emotional, vulnerable Rayna than we ever have before, especially once Deacon moves in. There are very few people that she ever lets in, but Deacon is one of them. And he knows when she's not ok even when she pretends like she is. And he's going to be around all the time

I'm a bit puzzled by what "refuses to let him wallow" exactly means. I thought at the end of 313, Deacon had indeed decided he wasn't going to give up and wallow, but fight (because of Maddie). Of course, easier to say than to do, but...

I think she might be in a bit of denial and he doesn't think he's wallowing. He think he's being realistic in that there's not a lot to do except wait for a donor to be found and there's a real chance that he could die before that happens. And she is so not ready to think about that possibility and wants to do something, anything.

Its going to be interesting because Deacon doesn't want to sit around and talk about his Cancer and Rayna i feel is going to want to totally just keep talking about it. I think he going to get super aggravated w her but I think by the end there is going to be some sort of them both coming to terms w things and also getting back together. Will we see a kiss? I think so, I'm not saying mauling one another lol but something.

I think Deacons characters is written to always be a pessimist and rayna is usually an optimist but my thoughts here is that even though we did see deacon take a step forward with maddie and not give up i think he is at the point were he just feels responsible for what spot he in. I think he just doesn't know what to do at this point so all is left is for him to feel sorry for himself and the people around him. Rayna is fighter so she probably want to know everything and he doesn't want to talk about it or even think about anymore. I think he has excepted his fate where rayna is far from that (i am not sure when she will find out about beverly) so she is trying to push him to fight like she did with his drinking

No there isn't.

It still annoys me that they have Scarlett back performing. They made such a big deal last season about her not wanting fame and that life and now she's back on it? Pretty frustrating.

Yes and she is still wary of it. Scarlett either needs to embrace performing or NOT. I am done with this whole plot.

Well she could only write poetry and hang around with homeless people for so long before the writers ran out of ideas. I know this is all just to build her and Gunnar back up but why drag Avery along with them...
