Horror movies, gore movies, because I get nightmares easily.

Romantic comedies, because they're predictable and cheesy.

Comedies (the ones with Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey etc) because I never find them funny.

Action movies, especially the ones with robots. I like disaster movies and superhero movies though. Most of the time I find them bad, but still entertaining.

Animation movies: not interested.

Remakes, especially when the original movie is already great and/or still recent.

Any movie by M. Night Shyamalan, Zack Snyder, Michael Bay etc.

I don't boycott actors I dislike. If they're in a movie I think is good, then I will watch it.

Sometimes I'll give them a chance, but I agree with this.

I avoid musicals. I've always disliked them. The only exception that I make to musicals is the tv show Glee. There's absolutely no way I'm ever going to watch High School Musical, just pure torture.

I also try to avoid spoof comedies if at all possible. Like Scary Movie, Stan Helsing, etc. I absolutely hate those movies, they aren't funny at all.

I don't like overly gorey horror movies like Saw. I really can't stand all the blood and gore in those, it's just way too gross.

Horror movies in general haven't been that great lately. They tend to be very predictible, and boring.

Remakes are another type of movie I avoid. I wish that film makers would just leave the classics alone, there's no need to remake them if they were great to begin with. One of the crappier ones was the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, I loved the original version, but the new version was entirely stupid. The original was 10x's better than that pile 'o crap remake. Instead of making all these remakes they should try to come up with their own original ideas.

I'm also getting tired of all of the documentary styled movies, in particular, all of the horror movies that are being done in that way. It's really annoying, plus I absolutely hate when they add 'based on actual events' or try to trick you into thinking it was actually real footage, when it's not. All it does is get you upset. If you're going to do a fictional movie, don't try to trick people into thinking it actually happened, it's just going to end up getting a lot of people ticked off at you.

I've been avoiding Adam Sandler's movies lately. I wasn't impressed with his recent ones, so I think I'm just going to avoid them from now on. With his movies it's like you're watching the same one over and over again. He never does anything new, I can't put up with it anymore.

Ben Stiller hasn't been much better lately either. Little Fockers was a huge mess. Such a step down from the first 2. His movies are usually hit and miss, but all of them lately have been misses.

Romantic comedies. Sorry I just think the genre is silly. Because of that Which is why I don't like/watch alot of Jennifer Aniston's movies since that's all she does for the most part. Wish she would do something different it just seems she plays the same role over and over gets boring after awhile.

For the most part I don't like musicals as well. I've only liked two.. Moulin Rouge because I am a fan of Nicole Kidman and I liked Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I don't like spoof films as of late. The real good ones were Spaceballs and the first two Scary Movies. Now lately their pretty stupid and dumb (IE: Epic Movie, Meet The Spartans)

I don't like musicals either, especially musical comedies. But I don't mind musical dramas.

I also avoid movies about sports and religion.

I'm the opposite!
I don't mind watching a remake if I haven't seen the original (except if it's a shot-for-shot remake, the worst kind of movie ever ).
But if I have seen the original first, I won't watch the remake, even if it gets great reviews, because I know I won't be able to enjoy it.

Aw, guys. I love musicals. Hee.

I totally understand not wanting to watch the remake of a movie you loved.

Sad, so sad.

I stay away from gushy gushy romance movies, and any by Michael Bay or Twilight oriented

Spoof comedies because I find them more insulting and ridiculous than funny most of the time.

Horror movies in general (ones with a lot of gore especially); I never really enjoy them, I don't think there's an actual reason.

Horror Movies - I scare very easily, & get nightmares.
Musicals (some) - Just too boring. All the singing makes it really annoying
Documentary (some) - Just plain boring but that depends on the topic

You know lately I found myself avoiding mainstream comedy movies. There is something repeatedly revolting about 45 minutes into the movie when you realized that the $12 you just spent on a movie ticket was for a movie with yet another predictable ending. Sure a lot of the really good recent comedies are hilarious, "Ted" was pretty good I think, but when you can see the ending then have another hour to wait for that ending to come as the laughs trail off, it's kind of a bummer.

There are so many movies these days where even in the trailer you can see what's about to happen, or at least you can see one of two things happening, neither of which will be surprising. That new Andy Samberg romantic comedy "Jesse and Celeste Forever" and that new "Babymakers" both seem funny but predictable. I will give credit to "The Campaign" though which doesn't make the ending completely obvious in the trailers (The Campaign trailers and quotes here if you're interested--the red band trailer is pretty good, not for children, but good) and I really hope it lives up to that. Anyway (sorry for ranting) but sadly, something about how predictable recent comedies have become is why I avoid them.
