He didn't. I would've loved for them to see each other again but because of what happened in Manhattan, that wasn't possible.

Considering he's been travelling time & space for such a long time now, I would have thought he'd gotten a bit better at calculating them but I also think it's realistic that he'll never get it right because time can be unpredictable.
