Yes it does doesnt it ? Cause he was still a doctor for a whole year righr? Cause david did that as well or is that considered another year??

Well David at least did 3 stories that year as opposed to 1, and they were spread throughout the year, but that is another interesting question- did he stay 3 seasons or 4 years? Do we count the years he didn't appear a lot? Same with Capaldi. This is one of the many reasons I dislike these breaks. I mean, if we are to say that this year counts as a year in Capaldi's tally, does that mean that Paul McGann is the longest serving Doctor at 9 years between the 96 special and the 2005 revival? Or McCoy between his first appearance in 1987 and his final one in the aforementioned special in 1996? So many difficult questions

That makes sense. I guess we count the years that he didn't appear as long as he's the current Doctor for that year?
