That was some brilliant acting by Jenna in that ep, imo.

Overall why I do like the Doctor and Clara, I felt that at most times it was stagnant. Nothing to do with the actors, both Peter & Jenna are amazing. But I would love for some eps that explored their dynamic more which I think S9 did but they only did that because Clara was leaving.

Clara & Eleven were nice to watch but their chemistry was lacking. It was a difficult season for Clara as we were so used to the dynamic of Eleven, Rory & Amy.

Did everyone already know Clara was going to be companion when "Asylum of the Daleks" aired?

I remember they said they'd introduce her in the Christmas episode (The Snowmen) but then introduced her months in advance (Asylum of the Daleks) and it made a lot of fans think maybe she wasn't going to be the companion since she got converted into a dalek and blown up. So many were as shocked as The Doctor when she showed up in London and then when she died again everyone was like, "What is happening?!" and the episode ends with yet another version of her in yet another time period.

The whole thing with Clara dying and then being alive and saving the Doctor everytime was so confusing for me. And then all of a sudden, that SL just went pfffft. I was confused with the whole thing.

Let me see if I can clear it up.
1) Clara jumped into the Doctor's timestream. 2) It is similar to intertwining her life thread with his life thread on the Loom of Life (kinda making them soul mates in a way). 3) Clara's essence (physical body/DNA & soul-spirit) was split into a million pieces creating versions of her all throughout time and space 4) Each Clara is a unique individual but has the same DNA & soul-spirit 5) Each Clara, when coming into contact with the Doctor, eventually remembers she has to save him and "Run you clever boy, and remember" 6) The Doctor rarely sees or hears the Clara echoes because his timestream was located inside the dying tardis, masking her with the chameleon circuit, much like how post-Hell Bent he can't fully remember or recognize Clara and how in season 3 when the Doctor, Martha, & Jack wore the tardis keys they were able to blend in without people truly seeing them and like how people have trouble remembering and seeing the Silence. 7) The Doctor was able to remember and see Oswin & Victorian Clara because it was needed to bring him to Core Clara and start the whole thing in motion. 8) Each echo of Clara is 100% a real Clara even though they don't have the memories or experiences of Core Clara. It's kind of like how Ten2 is the Doctor too. 9) Even though we no longer see the Clara echoes, they are still there. Every year, maybe every day, a Clara saves the Doctor's life. And he doesn't see or remember her. __________________
