Parenthood is a remarkable drama series, as is Friday Night Lights. 30 Rock has been a little lacklustre lately, but there's no doubt it will pick back up with such talented people behind it. Parks and Recreation is HILARIOUS, and Community has some brilliant moments! The majority of what I watch is on NBC! I wish people would give it a chance. __________________

CBS is not Must See TV in my house. Until this year with Mike & Molly, I rarely watched it. I've never watched NCIS or Two and Half Men because they don't appeal to me. Shows like Parenthood and Harry's Law are more my cup of tea.

Tow and a Half Men is dead, I used to like it but haven't watch most of the last season. NCIS is one of the few procedural I still watch. M&M is a nice change and not too many fat jokes.

I watch The Good Wife (onDemand...well after I've watched Parenthood live) and enjoyed The Big Bang Theory when it first came out ....that's it for CBS for me. I do know people who love NCIS, but it's more for the quirky characters than then procedural aspects.
But NBC? It's got my 3 favorite shows - Parenthood, Community and Parks and Recreation, and had FNL too. And if I'm going to randomly tune into something else, it's usually on NBC: Chuck, Harry's Law, The Office, 30 Rock, even Who Do You Think You Are (sappy as that is) I would hate if NBC totally jumped in to copying CBS's model, especially if it puts my favorites at risk. NBC has been able to have big hits with its character driven shows before: ER, The Office, and its Thursday night comedies. It's not that they can't do it, it's just that the previous regime either latched on to really stupid ideas (the Knight Rider and Bionic Woman redos) or took interesting ideas and botched them in execution (Heroes, Undercovers, The Event (sorry if any current fans are here) Plus, if the comparison of Parenthood's promos on NBC vs CityTV are any indication, NBC is not a marketing brain trust, so they have trouble drawing viewers to the good shows they do have. There's lots about NBC to fix, but dumbing down their shows or making more dull procedurals is not the way to fix it IMO. I'll think I'll stick with the "10 Reasons to Watch Parenthood" article Thanks for sharing Katka. |

The original BBC version on Who Do You Think You Are is way better, first it's 60 minutes without ads, yes thats right no annoying ad breaks and because of that no 'coming up' or recaps over the 42 minutes you get on NBC.
Big Bang Theory is one of my top shows right now and I'm a scifi geek. Haven't gotten into The Good Wife but remember they are all on at different times here and we do have local shows too and the Internet. Parenthood still comes first (just as Gilmore used to) though I tend not to watch the local airings so I don't get confused __________________

I think there are no sorrows, it's just a phrase. But it's so sweet!! I want Mae to tweet us a pic of them wearing the sweaters.
