I've submitted an update to add Lauren to that cast. Actually I think I've submitted it twice. I also seem to recall other people here mentioning that they have submitted her name.

Anyone can submit requests, but they have to be approved and verified before they happen.

Not sure why this one seems to go nowhere.

Yeah as you said it's been submitted on a number of occasions but not added yet. I think the main reason for that being is the fact that even though Lauren mentioned that she was in it, we never actually got an official release to say she was in the movie, etc.

That could be the reason IMDB is holding back to they have verification from Plum Pictures (who made the film) before adding her name to the credits.

Usually when their name hasn't been added it's to do with uncredited roles, etc but since her role is more than a cameo, she would make the credits.

Maybe when making the request to add her to the cast, someone could add a quote/link to one of Matthew or Ben Foster's interviews where they mentioned Lauren (if I'm not mistaken), or one of Lauren's interviews where she mentioned it, and that would verify it for IMDB.

Due to the writers strike it looks like some movies could be pushed back. Most that have already been filmed should not be effected however I just read in Entertainment weekly that some may be delayed. But the worse is that if the strike doesn't end soon the movie market for 2009 is looking bleak!!

hopefully this won't effect laurens movies.

Well LoM and FoG are in post-production - the only films that are affected are those either in-development or pre-production right now.

yeah most films already completed won't be effected. But what about any current films (like the rumor of the Jeff Daniels film) that were in talks? I guess those and any she was thinking about will be put on hault.

Well atleast we'll have FOG and LOM. Let's hope they still come out when scheduled.

Could they cancel the Oscars?

Could be an interesting awards season to come.

Well usually you say no because of the films affected. But because writers are involved in awards ceremonies, it does put a linger of doubt onto them too.

The JD movie was always one that was in the works, never officially confirmed by the production studio. Because it's never been officially confirmed, it would most likely be affected by the strike (but this is more of a talk that should be in the News thread).

Nadine do you know if the writers in Canada come under the same union? What I'm wondering is there are lots of US shows shot there and I know AiA is affected I was just wondering how that worked, does it depend on the production company being US or not.

Right. Because writers do write the material for he Oscars. The presenters don't make up their own stuff, it's written for them. So if there are no writers, could be no Oscars (or any other award show).

Will be intersting to be sure.

More interesting if the presenters did write their own stuff!
