In Season 6, in the episode "Field Trip" Mulder and Scully get into these "alternate reality experiences" under a drug where the other goes along exactly with what they always wanted them to be like!

So for Mulder, he found an alien and showed Scully and she completely was amazed and told him "you were right all along Mulder and I was wrong". And then Mulder was like "that doesn't sound like you Scully" and that's how he figured out things weren't right and to save himself out of the experience. So even though he really wishes her to believe, he knows she wouldn't be the true her if she really did.

I only watched a few seasons, and I found it funny how she could never seem to believe, no matter how much she saw.

what didn't work for me was that Scully is religious. For god to exist, she needs no proof, only for everything else!

That is very true. If she's capable of blind faith, why can't she believe in the things she is seeing?

Yeah, and Mulder believed in extreme possibilities except the exisitence of God and religion too, so it was kind of weird they both had those mindsets.

well, no. Aliens and weird creatures are more believable than god. To me anyway

There's always an explanation with them.
