You should!

And I hope they don't mess with the book to much (so no adding of Peter and Susan), but it does seem like they will.

I'm glad they seem to be in it and not just in a flashback either.

And I've decided I'm definitely gonna watch this, even if I have to go alone.
And if I have to go alone I'm definitely gonna watch it in english.

Finally managed to watch the first movie today - working on Prince Caspian now.

Since I haven't read the books - do you guys think the movies are a good adapation of the books?

It's been a while since I read the few books that I did.

I saw the first movie first and then read a few of the books. I think they are a good adaption.

The movies are kind of bland.

The first movie is a good adaptation IMHO. The 2nd movie was good, but not very faithful to the book; though I think the changes they made were good to make it more "film material". I haven't seen the 3rd movie yet.

The books are much better than the movies IMO - it's much better to imagine C.S. Lewis' magical world for yourself than to have it shown to you.

I'm just started to read The Magician's Nephew, the first in the order of books. No doubt it will take me a very long time to read all the books

The Magician's Nephew is the first in the new order of the books. The original order (the order that they were published in) is like the movies.

I think you lose a little of that sense of wonderment at the discovery of a new and amazing world if you read the Magician's Nephew first. While seeing the creation's interesting, you lose discovering it with Lucy in TLTWATW in that case, and I'm not sure that's a worthwhile trade-off.

Agreed. I strongly recommend putting down Magician's Nephew and starting anew with TLTWATW. Read MN second to last (just before Last Battle).

Sounds like going by the original publishing order is the way to go once I get around to reading the books

I'd agree with that. Let us know what you think of the books once you've read them.
