Yeah, I think Joss said in an interview sometime about how, with Buffy & Xander, he was doing something where not only was the guy okay with the girl being way more powerful than him, but that he also found it attractive too

^^^ Joss' quote there makes sense. I always got the sense that Xander was deeply turned on by that side of Buffy that was mature beyond her years and could protect them.

Even in the beginning, it doesn't take him long to get used to the idea that she's supernatural and it doesn't put him off.
