Fred: People might start to talk.
Gunn: Why would they?
Fred: Well, you know, us.
Gunn: 'Us' has been doing breakfast for weeks now. Everyone knows that.
Fred: I know, but now that we've kissed, things are different. I mean, they are, right?
Gunn: Oh yeah.
Fred: So you don't think they can tell?
Gunn: From here?
FRED: I'm being ridiculous, I know. It's just, I don't have a lot of
experience in this area. I spent the last five years in a cave.
Gunn: Yeah, I know what that's like.
Fred: How could you?

After spending years in a hell dimension where humans
Are treated as slaves, Fred Burkle is nothing short of a
Survivor. Quirky and brilliant, Fred becomes a wonderful
Addition to the Angel Investigations team.

"She survived. Girl's strong."

Growing up on the streets is never easy, especially when
You’re fighting vampires. Gunn is tough and street smart.
His fighting skills and connections are crucial to the Angel
Investigations team, as is his much needed comedic relief.

"I'm forkin' with Gunn!"

"Maybe it's not so much magical but chemical when two people
are attracted. Maybe it's like the DNA knows what it needs and
when it finds it, nothing can get in its way. It just takes it."

"I've been fighting vamps and demons since I was a kid. That sense of doing
good, of waking up in the morning and making the world safer - better ... I've
always had that ... But I never had a Fred before. If we have to, I choose you."

Because they both survived the tough times that made them stronger.
Because he never had a 'Fred' before her.
Because if he had to choose the job he loves or her, he chooses her.
Because they got each other's back.
Because she knew something was wrong with him when he broke up with her.
Because he killed a guy to save her from herself.

Because there's something about Gunn, that makes Fred melt.
Because according to Fred, best boyfriend ever. Breakfast in bed.

It was, they needed to finish that talk... but I don't think it was ever acknowledged again

I think he's the type that really likes to get into his characters, & Connor had so much potential... but the writers just got lazy with it

They sure did which is why I can say I at least appreciate what we got from him during season 5.

Me too, the little bit that we got of him in s5, was what I had wanted for the character for a long time

That's upsetting... at least we got something in this episode though since I even forgot this scene.

Yeah, I still think the writers could have done a lot more with him though, he was the most underused main character imo
