From all the remaining characters, and I'm not going to talk about Alicia, the only relationships I'd look forward to see develop is Kalinda/Diane, and Kalinda/Elsbeth. Archie mentioned Peter, but I'm not sure about that. Yes I like seeing her with Will and Cary. Even with Eli. But the way things are right now, I don't see how those would keep being interesting, after what we already had. Quote:
They had a great first season. They must know what worked. Then, they listened to the audience regarding the Nick issue. What about all the rest? I'm not saying they should write the show according to the will of the audience. It's not that. But they caught fans over a few reasons, and now they are getting rid of all those same reasons. When everything, or almost everything that gained me to the show is now gone, why stick around?! Quote:

It's clear that JM doesn't like Kalinda's character. And the writers, now feel they have created a monsters that they can't control. And because they don't know how to handle, they just rather not to touch it, hoping it to die of inanition. And every time we have a little more than a glimpse of Kalinda, it's her own tameless force that provokes it. But is her force, Archie's really, enough for the character survive one more season? I don't know. I really have no idea. Quote:

I didn't really forgot her birthday, but i wanted to do something to mark it. .... And I didn't But then we had these interviews, I mean, in the period of one week or something we had like 5 appearances of Archie! I don't think we ever had so much Archie in a row. Quote:
There are many reasons why I admire Archie, and not only for the way she respects the audience, but also because she understands us, and recognizes our commitment towards the show and the characters. She's not a big name, but she's an excellent actress, and seems to be a good person. When I read, or watch Archie's interviews, I always feel happy seeing that I wasn't wrong in my admiration. Quote:

Thanks Rista for the info on that film. Quote:

I was expecting a serious interview about Archie's involvement in Rotary International and instead I got practically 5 minutes bisexual exploitation, Archie saying she was "very flexible" and the reveal that there may be more of Kalinda and Lana in bed on the cutting room floor. Did I hear this correctly? WHERE DO I GET THE OUTTAKES? I'm sorry. I have a weak heart. |

I agree that this was one of the most stupid interviews I've ever seen with Archie - thank God that she's good with people.
I found the interview (except for the polio conversation) painful to watch, especially combined with the scenes they chose. It was all about male phantasies, wasn't it? TGW is still a great show and there are so many interesting things to say about it AND about Kalinda, and what do they do? Reduce Kalinda to a man's phantasy. I'm sorry, maybe I don't have enough humor to find that funny. __________________

Even if short, it was still very funny. As for the hosts, clearly they don't watch the show, and only one did the homework, but they seem nice, and funny, and Archie felt good to be there. "She's flexible, in several different ways. I'll leave that to you to decide what..." "Whenever I do a scene, I always like to put everything into it." "Let's just say, I'm very dedicated to my work, and once I'm in a scene I fully..., I let myself go!" Damn, she is such a tease! And what a naughty, naughty girl! Quote:
And to be honest, I think it was clear that TGW was just a pretext to get Archie those 5 min. Plus, after a few great, great interviews with her these last week, what's a goofy interview?! At the end, if I didn't knew Archie or TGW, what I would retain would be: - this actress is very beautiful, nice, funny and has a brain. - If I was a girl I wouldn't start watching TGW because of this appearance or the clips; - If I was a guy, I might. (why deny it it's true!). - Polio can easily be eradicated, if people actually care; it takes only 2 drops to vaccinate children, and costs less than a dollar! Quote:

Additionally, what the show could use is more men 18-35 watching. Ergo, in accordance with your breakdown, well done Archie! Quote:

On the other hand, not to be the devil's advocate but Kalinda wouldn't be treated that way if the show wasn't using her that way. I invite you to read an objective article on that issue written by Tom Matlack for "The Good Men Project", a blog dedicated to male perspective on many social issues. A Three-Way of a Different Kind by @TMatack — The Good Men Project I didnt agree with everything at the time but I fear the show has gone deeper that way since. Quote:

ETA: The entire beginning of that interview was pretty funny but that guy needed to calm down Though his reaction doesn't surprise me. On another note, Archie has the best laugh ever. Last edited by Boots Electric; 06-11-2013 at 10:22 AM |

Kalinda Sharma IS hot, beautiful and flexible and of course TGW uses it as well as Kalinda herself uses it, and of course it is part of promoting the show and Archie. That's more than fine with me. But though Archie seemed to be prepared to the "main topic" of this interview and played along well (I don't know if she had fun or not, she's an actress after all) I didn't like the way this was done.
As long as we live in a world where it's not possible that a male actor's character can be introduced on a Good Morning Show first with his wife and then with a man in bed, and the actor can comment how very "flexible" his character is and how "dedicated" he, the actor, is to his work, there's something wrong and I just find it mysogynistic - especially with that interviewer's remarks (and the two women agreeing to it), and especially when the conversation is reduced to sex (well, and polio). But obviously I'm taking this too seriously and I don't want be a spoilsport, it's just not my kind of humor. Besides, I'm also curious about the outtakes . __________________

Christ. Another interview, this time for CBS 2 Local News. Gersh is really pushing her.
A/K tidbit, Archie says last she heard the writers wouldn't be developing Kalinda and Alicia's friendship. She is still hopeful they'll change their minds. |
