Hey! Let's see how's that italian of yours!!
"Nella mia notte tu entravi Entravi come un fiume nei miei desideri Sentivo i tuoi occhi misteriosi come la notte oscura sulla mia pelle d'oro pallido Sopra colline di dolcezza E poi... l'infinito movimento sensuale della tua bocca era sinfonia senza nome sulle mie labbra" by Nadia Mazzocco __________________

Hello everybody ! You have some really beautiful poems here! Wow! I hope it's okay to add a poem that some of you might know. Many people say it was written by the amazing Maya Anjelou but the real writer seems to be Pamela Redmond Satran. Anyway, it’s a wonderful text:
WHAT A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own even if she never wants to or needs to... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ... a youth she's content to leave behind.... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling it in her old age.... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..... a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... a feeling of control over her destiny... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... how to fall in love without losing herself.. EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... how to quit a job... break up with a lover... and confront a friend without ruining the friendship... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... when to try harder... and when to walk away... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... that she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents.. EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... what she would and wouldn't do for love or more... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... whom she can trust, whom she can't, and why she shouldn't take it personally... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... where to go... be it to her best friend's kitchen table... or a charming inn in the woods... when her soul needs soothing... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... what she can and can't accomplish in a day... a month...and a year... |

Oooooh nice! And thanks for the correction. Not sure why so many people quote from it saying it's Maya Angelou.
I love it, especially the second half. I think I'm a check on most of these except maybe the 8 matching plates I keep breaking them so my plates are as mismatched as can be Well I may have a problem with these two Quote:

I read his sonnets when I was in school. It was a bilingual book from a collection we had at the library. They also had Dante, Goethe, Shakespeare... Quote:

I love that one Quando da bella vista e doce riso Tomando estam meus olhos mantimento, Tão elevado sinto o pensamento, Que me faz vêr na terra o Paraiso. Now for the GoT talks (careful, ladybug, big spoilers under there ) Quote:

Don't worry about spending too much time thinking of this, hun. I'm fascinated by the prophecies in the book. Right now, it's the Azor Ahai thing for me __________________

I don't understand the entire poem but what I understand is beautiful. Thank you!
Here's a poem that is well-known in my country. The author is Erich Fried. I'll post the English and the Portuguese translation - just because it sounds so much more beautiful than in my own language, I have know idea if the translation is correct . (Maybe Kalinda should read this poem before she tries to run away again): What it is It is nonsense says reason It is what it is says love It is misfortune says calculation It is nothing but pain says fear It is hopeless says insight It is what it is says love It is ridiculous says pride It is careless says caution It is impossible says experience It is what it is says love O que?

Now, not sure if I posted this one before, either way, here it is, from Florbela Espanca... __________________
