You're welcome, May. It's a really good interview. It's nice how modest she was about making it in Hollywood back then. It's a shame, because she arrived on the scene just a few years before British and Australian actors started to dominate in Hollywood.
Lovely gifset, Christine! __________________

I don't know what it is with these horrible promo pictures. Have you watched the first episode that aired earlier this week? Joanne looked stunning! And her dress was so much more flattering than Claire Foy's. I shall post some screencaps later. (Generally I'm always put off by how Katherine of Aragon is portrayed on TV these days – she wasn't that much older than Henry after all, yet they always seem to make her look as if she were as old as his mother.) Btw, I have to say this for "Henry VIII", the 2-part TV movie with Charles Dance, Ray Winstone and Assumpta Serna – for once we weren't thrown into the whole divorce business but got to see some sweet and tender side to Henry's and Katherine's relationship.

Hi, Nina! Nice to see you back! I'm glad you're okay.
Yeah, I don't know why they do that to her either. I remember seeing her in an interview recently and she doesn't look anywhere near like that. Perhaps that's just bad lighting or something. Can't wait to see your screencaps. Thanks! __________________

It'll have to wait till tomorrow I'm afraid but I'll try to get to it ASAP.
Yeah, I think it's a general phenomenon perhaps, thinking of "The Tudors" where Maria Doyle Kennedy, also a very beautiful woman, was (and naturally looked) way older than Jonathan Rhys Meyers... which again has nothing to do with historical reality. KoA was only six years older than Henry I think. I think they do that on TV to "justify" Henry leaving his wife by making her look like an old hag. It's not right though. But yes, I was pleasantly surprised by the premiere of "Wolf Hall" altogether. And Joanne looked great, and her acting was superb in that one scene she was in. I'm looking forward to more. __________________

I know! I mean, look at that pic of her as Vanozza that Christine posted. There's no way she could age that much in a short period of time.
What's Wolf Hall about? Whenever you can post it is good. __________________

"Wolf Hall" is a six part BBC mini-series about Thomas Cromwell. It's based on two novels by Hilary Mantel, the first one also called "Wolf Hall", the second "Bring Up The Bodies".
Here's the wiki page: Wolf Hall (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It started this week. I thought it was very well done. The tone of the series is very different from "The Tudors" – since in my personal opinion the whole Tudor era has kind of been overdone in recent years, I was pleasantly surprised by this. __________________
