^ Decisions and Kiss might be my favorite DJo eps but Beauty Contest may be in the top five. For now at least. I'll probably change my mind as I rewatch the series.

Beauty Contest was a good episode. And even if it is the first time Dawson really saw Joey as more than just the girl down the creek, he had to open his eyes at some point and this was just the light bulb for Dawson.

We haven't had a survivor here for a while. anybody interested in creating one. I thought it might be fun to do a Movie watching survivor. There are a lot of those moments between them. I don't really ship DJo, so I don't have a bunch of pics of them stored anywhere, but some other might.

I wouldn't mind doing a DJ Survivor, either, but I'd would be afraid that I would miss important scenes.

I'm guessing that any scenes would be better than none.

We could do an episode survivor instead of a scene survivor. Sometimes it's easier to judge whole episode storylines than individual scenes. Starting Friday, I'll be out of town for a little over a week but I could work on it when I got back unless someone else is able to do it before then.

Watched Decisions last night--the first episode of DC I ever saw. There was a lot of great DJo stuff in that one! I liked how they were talking about contrived cliffhangers in the beginning. It was a great setup for what was to come and what had been happening with them all season. Stuck in the same pattern--Joey pining and Dawson being oblivious. And I liked how that was broken, just by him simply talking to Joey's father about her. He only had glowing things to say about her and that's when it clicked, that she's everything to him and he'd be lost without her. I think he had to face the possibility of her leaving for him to grasp onto what he's always felt for her. She was always there and he never considered her being anywhere else. I think he was starting to see it even before that when he felt awkward about sharing a bed with her in a hotel. It took him out of his/their comfort zone. Joey knew he was just scared and so did he. Him finally telling her he was ready to be honest at the end. Another great subtext convo that led to their first real kiss! The way he pulls her back into him was so awesome and iconic.

DJo S1 Survivor can't wait


Dawson: She's great. I mean, she's smart, she's beautiful, she's funny,
she's a big ol' scaredy cat. If you creep up from behind her she'll jump out
of her skin. It's pretty amusing. She's honest. She always calls them just
like she sees them. You can always count on getting the truth from Joey
even if the truth hurts. She's stubborn. We fight a lot. She can be so
frustrating sometimes. But she's a really, really, good friend. I know her to
a fault. She believes in me. And I'm a dreamer so it's so good to have
somebody like that in my life. If she goes away, I don't know what I'm
going to do. I mean, she's my best friend, you know? She's more than that.
She's everything.
