Rey was partially unconscious in this scene, but she'll surely remember that Kylo bested Finn in that fight and then attempted to grab the saber, before it went to Rey (at the exact moment they both realize how strong she is with the Force.)


To be honest I don't know if this was intentional by Rian or not, but in my mind, I immediately linked it to Kylo's arrogant belief that the lightsaber should be his because it links to his bloodline, even though he's a hypocrite because he talks and talks about wanting to "kill the past."

Kylo talks about "killing" the past, when in fact, he's the one who can't let go of it. That should be his arc in Episode IX. To finally let go of the past

They should call Episode IX "Keeping the Past Alive" or "Never Let Go" (which sounds like a Titanic reference )

I'm wondering what the name of Ep. IX. will be. I guess "The balance" or "The Gray Jedi" would be too obvious

I really don't have a clue what the title will be. I said 'The Balance' would be great last month, but it just seems too obvious to me and would be a giveaway for Kylo and Rey's dynamic.


That said - I didn't have a clue what 'The Last Jedi' meant when that was announced Plenty of people made jokes about it, saying and then Ep IX will be "The Very Last Jedi" and Ep X will be "The Last LAST Jedi, we swear"

Episode IX. could be "The New Jedi". It could also mean Gray Jedi, but it wouldn't be obvious.

It's interesting that Adam confirmed 'The Force Awakens' was referring to both the Light and Dark sides of the Force. Many people wouldn't have known that before the movie was released. They just think of The Force as an inherent Force of Light. We really see TLJ expand upon the title of TFA in terms of how it plays out in Kylo and Rey's character shifts throughout the movie.

Yes, now when we know, what that title means and with TLJ events, it's clear that Kylo and Rey were supposed to be the main protagonists since the beginning and that they are heavily intertwined.
