Wil says his mom ran his life and his dad was a bully. There's obviously still a lot of tension there.

It is sad. Unfortunately, it seems that child actors often have issues with how their parents hadndeld things.

Pushing their children to pursue their personal dreams instead of listening to the child. and often they mismanage the money so the child doesn't benefit.

oh, that's a terrific episode! One of my all time favourites. Love the father son bonding scenes for Alexander and Worf. And Troi knew how to handle that gun.

All the actors really seemed to enjoy getting into their wild west characters.

You just kinda wondered how they all knew how to use old fashioned guns coming from the 24th century.

Yeah agree, that's sad. In the end his situation was not so different to wesley's. He also got pushed by all the adults around him and they never realyl listened to him, which led to him being very unhappy for amyn years till he left with the traveler. Some case of life imitating art.

.
Since they were familiar with the genre, I assumed that they maybe watched old movies.

There are some parallels between Wil and Wesley. Although I'd blame the writers for the lack of news about Wesley. His mom was still on board, so it would be easy to have him mentioned in passing.

My fiance told me about a fun idea, something to do with him and his friends while we're all going through this isolation. Re-watch TNG from the beginning and then record reactions discussions about each episode.
