Hi, Ice. How's it going?

Am I the first one here?

Yeah, I think so. I know LadyH said she might not make it tonight because her son had a spinal stimulator implanted today and I guess it was expected to be outpatient, but now they may have to keep him overnight.

And Lemon just tweeted that she's running late because there's a homework issue at her house. Those are always hard to deal with.

So I guess we can just hold off on everything for a few minutes.

OK, this is a link back to the old Charloe page. Don't click on this link, unless you need to go back to the old thread for some reason: http://www.fanforum.com/f88/bass-cha...back-63196616/

Wow, I've never heard of that, I hope it's nothing serious.

I'm really only here for the company myself -- I never had a chance to read this time, so I don't have any comments.

Yeah, I was trying to speed read myself, so maybe we can just hold off on the comments for these stories until next time, especially if there's only three of us.

And I'm not sure about the stimulator, but I sort of want to ask her about it. My mom's back and leg pain has kind of come back with a vengeance and I think this is the very thing the pain doctor she visited today was talking about doing for her. Now I'm sort of curious about the procedure. I know my mom is really unsure about it, so I'll have to talk to LadyH and see what her thoughts are.

I'm here!!!!

Sorry I'm late. I kid you not - my kid told us he needed a set of encyclopedias to do his homework. He told us this at 7pm. We do not own encyclopedias. So Mr. Lemon took him on an emergency library run. The evening has been chaos.

Oh wow. A real set of encyclopedias? About five years ago, my mom tried to get rid of the set my grandmother had bought in the 50s, and no one wanted them, not even the library or a museum. I wasn't sure there were any still out there.

And no worries. MD didn't get to read and I haven't really written up comments. And LadyH isn't here. So we weren't even sure if we should post on these stories tonight or just save them up for next time.

His assignment was a packet and every page required a different kind of research. We had to scrounge for a world atlas too. Luckily we had a thesaurus and dictionary but the encyclopedias...that was a hard no. haha

I can comment or wait. Read last night. Nothing prepared but I could write something if we do comments tonight.

Hi, Lemon! How're you & the fam?

I WISH there'd been the Internet when I was his age (I totally suck at research -- especially when I have to read through EVERYTHING to find what I'm looking for -- with my vision problems, I tend to miss a lot when I read).

I know. I remember using encyclopedias to do research for papers when I was in school (so a heck of a long time ago). Obviously, it's so much easier to look stuff up online nowadays because things are updated so quickly. When I used to look things up in our (outdated) encyclopedias, there was always that chance that things would have changed and made my paper incorrect.

Well, I haven't written up comments. Maybe we should just wait for next time since it's just us three.

I'm alright, I suppose. Just got a new phone (last week)! YAY!

But I'm bummed that I already scratched it (it's one of those all-glass models). It's a small, not very deep one on the back, but I still know it's there. I imagine it's like when you buy a new car and you're bummed about the first ding from a wayward shopping cart or from someone bumping it with their car door in a parking lot.

I'll get over it, I guess.

Waiting sounds good to me.

I considered having him look up everything on line but there was no way. Questions were like "What is the title of the Encyclopedia series?" and "What is the first place listed in the F book?" and "What was the copyright?" and etc. Short of pulling answers out of my you know what...we had to go to the library.

I remember using encyclopedias for research papers. Did you ever do the note cards for all your sources? Good times.

Also, in the "Feeling old" category....I mentioned Columbia House in a work meeting today and nobody knew what that was. Good lord. Its like I work in a daycare.

MD - new phones are fun! I always get those protectors. I know they aren't super attractive but without them my phones would never last.

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I hope you had great weekends! My computer has been stuck in automatic updating for the past hour, so that's why I'm so late.

So, what's new?
