I just feel as though Josh Schwartz must have had a REAL issue with Barton. It can't be Marissa's popularity because he's the one who created her.

Season 4 is terrible. I caught an episode on TV the other week and it honestly feels like a different show.

Summer mourns Marissa for like 2 minutes but her and Julie are practically guilt-tripped into shutting up about their grief because god forbid we prevent the Ryan/Taylor happy go lucky plot moving forward right?!!!

The only season 4 episode after the first one that I watched in full was this terrible one where Ryan had some fantasy AU reality as a forced way to hook him up with Taylor full-time.

That's when I realized that the writers were trying to make everyone forget what Marissa meant to him and everyone else and it officially hit a new low.
