Marissa: (walks into model home as Ryan lights it with candles. Hallelujah is playing) This song reminds me of you.
Ryan: I thought you were with Luke.
Marissa: I was.
(hesitates)
Marissa: I don't know why I'm here, I just wanted to see you... I mean, you're leaving tomorrow!...
and what if I never... we never... maybe I could spend the night? Just to hang out...
Ryan: You can't stay. If you stay, if we spend the night... I... I don't know that I could leave.
Marissa: Well, then don't!
Ryan: Yeah, and you'll go back to school in the fall, and I'll just what? Hang around here?
Hiding like some ghost? Cops find me and I'll have to disappear again?
(moves closer)
Ryan: We're from different worlds.
Marissa: That's not true.
Ryan: I'm not like you. Go. Please... go.

Marissa: Are you okay?
Ryan: Yeah. (Marissa looks down and causes the cart they're sitting in to move) Had to get the cheap ferris wheel didn't you?
What kind of carnival is this Cooper? Okay, look. I don’t talk a lot..about stuff. I really don’t trust people. But I trust you.
And I want to make it…this work. No matter what. And if we ever get down from here maybe we can talk about it.
Marissa: Oh, well who knows when that will be.
Ryan: Please don’t say that.
Marissa: Look, maybe you just need something to take your mind off of it.
Ryan: We’re fifty feet in the air, how do you expect me to possibly.. (Marissa kisses Ryan)

Ryan: I love you.
Marissa: What?

Marissa: Thank you.

Ryan: Wanna dance?
Marissa: I just want you to know I understand why you have to do this.
Ryan: Thanks.

Ryan: Me too.

(Marissa switches on the radio, a hip-hop song is playing. They both laugh)

Marissa switches stations, Forever Young starts playing)
Marissa: Hey!
(Ryan and Marissa share a slow dance)

Ryan: What do you want from me?
Marissa: I want you.

Ryan: You okay?
Marissa: Yeah.
Ryan: It’s so weird talking about that night. Last time we were here I was leaving and now you are.
Marissa: That night..did you ever think we’d end up together?
Ryan: You saying it’s over?
(Marissa laughs)

Marissa: I’m sorry..for all the craziness.
Ryan: I wouldn’t have done it any differently. Except maybe Oliver.
