The first half isn't great, but the season picks up a bit when Trey arrives imo.

Logan Marshall-Green was great in the role. Too bad they made Trey a complete scumbag I really wanted the writers to fix the Trey and Ryan brotherhood after his jail time so the fact they used him as another obstacle for Ryan/Marissa annoys the eff out of me.

That Johnny guy had no charisma whatsoever and there was no justifiable reason why they suddenly had Marissa mourn him in a romantic way. That was forced BS.

Definitely, not to mention he brought out the best acting wise in both Ben and Mischa.

Same here, especially since the aftermath was so poorly handled in Season 3.

Logan got a key role in 'Prometheus' and was easily the best thing about that movie.

I can't watch any episode of season three without cringing. They even ruined Ryan and Marissa's sex scene by juxtaposing it with clips of her father getting a beating to foreshadow more tragedy for them as a couple

and wow, Marissa's personality is a MESS halfway through season 3. I hate how she closes herself off from Ryan.

They really did Marissa dirty even back in season 1. You can tell Schwartz had a grievance with Mischa. They put her character through hell even in Ryan and Marissa's best season

So much wasted potential as well. Mischa gave a brilliant performance in 'The Sixth Sense' (as a teenager!) but in The O.C. the most they ever give her is a bunch of drunken meltdown scenes where she's enraged at Julie or screaming at Ryan for being with Theresa or over the Johnny stupidity.

That's the sad thing, by the time Marissa died a lot of the audience had been twisted against her because of all the BS that happened in season 3 where even Ryan just looks lost about how to deal with her. What kind of writers want people to hate their main character???

The cast tried to act as if Mischa deliberately separated herself from the show and never wanted to discuss it again in the years after, but knowing what we know in retrospect, who can blame her? They trashed her character. Not many good memories to talk about with people.
