The 16th episode of "Smallville" Season 7 airs in the U.S. on Thursday, April 17th, 2008 at 8.00pm.

Titled "Descent", here's the official (spoiler filled) description from The CW...

"The day Clark and Lex become mortal enemies. The secret of Veritas leads Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in a dangerous direction that will put Clark (Tom Welling) and Lex in each others' crosshairs. There is a major power struggle and one character dies."

Written by Don Whitehead and Holly Hendersen.

Directed by Ken Horton.

Definetly looking forward to this episode... even if it's incredibly obvious who's going to bite the dust. The fact that it is the jumping off point into Evil!Lex gets me excited.

Ken...Lex has already passed that point, but this will definitely add to the body count total

From the pics...I know the female viewers are excited to see Clark in a suit and out of the blue/red t-shirts and jackets

True. He has made alot of strides in shedding his good-guy image. Pretty much becoming pure, un-adulterated evil.

Another SV funeral... you know it will be epic.

Yeah, SV's had a feeling for the dramatic and funerals...it started with the awesome S1 funeral scene of Whitney's father, the amazing "Time after time" song by Eva Cassidy, the rain...and the fact that Clark went with Chloe and not Lana!

At last! Looking forward to seeing Lex being even more of a badass than he has been before.
I presume that this episode will be broadcast earlier in Canada right?

Can't wait for this one!

Clark and Lex have been at odds before but it will be cool to see that this will be the final drift between them that makes them pure enemies.

I can not wait for Thurs! This is the ep I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for! FINALLY! Bring all all the delicious Lex stuff!

Is it strange that almost all the fans are cheering Lex on, and have been since the beginning I wonder if SV creative team knows how well liked Lex is, even after doing all of those evil deeds the last 2 seasons.

It's not really that strange, I think.

Lex Luthor has been an iconic character for years. In Smallville we've had the chance to see a side of him that really wasn't in the comics or films. Just like Smallville is about the years before Clark became Superman, it's also about the years before Lex turned into the true villian that he's always portrayed.

It's been fun to watch that all these years so it's thrilling to finally see that drift that we always knew was coming.

^^^Exactly! I just adore Lex, he's one of the best villains ever. But once he started getting even more evil in S5-S6, I just fell even harder. So I think tonight's ep has been a long-time coming. But that makes sense, since as you said it's the years before Clark became Superman, and within the SV universe, before Lex became the villain.
