(I haven't watched the newest episode yet, as I write this.)
No, you did not overwhelm me with all that info.  Actually, I always love to read/hear someone talk about something they like with so much passion. So your post just put a big smile on my face. And yes, all those info you listed about her is totally true. She's got all of those wonderful, interesting features and lots of potential - but if you take a closer look, all her characteristics are being defined throughout her relationship with Barry or Eddie. There has (and pls correct me if I'm wrong) not been a scene with the focus on just her. Which has made her appear a bit like the one-dimensional girlfriend trope so far. And while her (at this point platonic) love for Barry does not need much explanation to be relatable, simply because he's the main character and we all get to see how kind, good and adorable he is, her relationship and love for Eddie remains uninteresting because Eddie is even less of a well rounded character than any 'meta-human of the week' has been so far. What I want for her, and that's already been hinted at with the blog she started, is a purpose that's not simply being someones girlfriend or crush. Like you said: "she wants to give people hope and let them know that someone is looking out for them" and that's great! I wanna see more of that! But not just from Barry's point of view but from Iris'. What motivates her? What's her inner conflict? etc. __________________

I'm up to date now and I gotta say that 1x06 handled Iris and also Eddie a lot better than all the episodes before. Eddie's character still doesn't interest me at all but at least I can see that they're trying to give him some personality.
