Okay, I love your specs. It all makes sense actually. Though it also seems to me that Dumbledore likes Newt enough to help him back then. However, I wonder if Newt & Dumbledore already know each other because Newt studied at Hogwats and perhaps Dumbledore warned Newt about Grindelwald?

Yes, Graves/Grindelwald also mentioned that to Newt at MACUSA when they captured him. So you may be right that both Dumbledore & Newt will join forces to defeat Grindelwald.

That's true. They may have small battle scenes this early but some of the most important ones might be reserved for the last movie.
