Beautifully said. We really are lucky to have not just Joss but everybody that worked on the show involved in shaping Spuffy into what they became.
 Plus SMG/JM too. They brought the characters to life and are a huge reason Spuffy happened. They work So well together and chemistry.    __________________

How did she manage to say something so honest and vulnerable and deep and yet still have it be so emotionally shady? Look at his face. No wonder he was so confused on if she loved him or not. She said she needs him to be there instead of saying she needs him. She said she's not ready for him to not be there instead of please don't go I couldn't bear it. Spuffy kills me. It is so complex. Every line and facial expression explores so many avenues and adds so many more questions to an already complicated relationship. __________________

That's my point. She's saying it but not saying it. It's almost emotional cheating. Except that she doesn't mean to be and he knows it but at the same time doesn't know exactly what she wants/needs. That's just what she feels comfortable saying at the moment but it probably came off to Spike like it was more games but unintentional which makes it much harder than if it was intentional.
But from Spike's perspective, it must be so confusing. It's like the people that say "I could love you" instead of "I love you". __________________
