It's freestanding in LA. Easily to reach too. Near a bus-stop. Only 1 bus per 30 minutes that goes there ( I think ), but that should be enough

It's a normal house in a regular neighborhood. It's where they filmed all of their outside scenes and some in-the-doorway-moments. It was very cool to make pictures there and sit/stand at places where the actresses stood aswell, haha.

Its always bugged me how TV homes often bare little resemblance to reality, with the charmed house the real one used for exterior shots you can see a wall when the door is open. In the studio there is a long hall way from the front door through to the dinning, no wall blocking the view.

As for Lorelai's house on the WB backlot the kitchen is off to the left side of the house, where as in the studio set it's at the back of the house.

I do enjoy when fans try and do a floor plan of TV homes, I'm seen one for TBBT apartments, looks weird but it works.

I guess one show it didn't happen on was FireFly as they built the main body of the ship as their set, not separate sound stages for different parts.
