oh my God did the person who wrote that article have an aneurism before writing it? Anyone who paid attention to the show and cared about Lorelai would not come out saying that Chris was the perfect guy for her and find any reason to support that. Anyone who says Chris is "perfect" in any shape or form, either did not pay attention to his actions or likes toxic, selfish, deadbeats... which is all kinds of concerning.

a lot of the reasons they use are also signs of a good friendship too. I think they're good as friends in the early seasons but then it gets annoying.

And even in the friendship department, Luke beats him at that hands down. I'm not even sure if early on they were that great of friends because Chris kept trying to get with her and use Rory for that purpose. Like, maybe on the surface it looks like a good friendship, but knowing Chris and what he thinks and does just taints it.

oh, Luke for sure beats him in the friendship department, I don't think anyone can deny that.

he was in S2 too much for my liking.

S3 is a bit better in that regard.

S4 was bliss because he doesn't appear all.

He just causes upset and drama anytime he appears. When he sleeps with Lorelai, then keeps pushing her into being with him, I think that one is the worst and most unforgivable action he pulled. And he once again, uses the excuse of seeing Rory to be able to see Lorelai in person to tell her that he loves her. How grossly toxic for him to do that to her, manipulate her feelings like that, after her telling him the night was nothing to her and after her just ending a relationship with someone she's still in love with.

I can not fathom why ANYONE would want that for Lorelai, why there are people who support that toxicity and think they should have ended up together. Even worse - defend his actions or think they're okay? Wtf.

These two points I particularly agree on:

Despite his best efforts to show his affection for Lorelai, he was only in love with idea of being with Lorelai and not really her. He always thought his life would be better, or fall into place, if Lorelai was with him, which is a bad reason to date someone.

This might be our biggest issue with Chris, because it happened all the time. He came in and out of the girls’ lives when it was convenient for him, which just rubs us the wrong way. You can’t be a good boyfriend, husband or father, if you only report for duty when it pleases you. Ugh, he was so terrible.
