I'm guessing JJs are a good 80-90% of the fan base and most despise Deadbeat entirely, its not just hate for CL.

You're right on, this is totally true. Stupid actually had a great number of people believing in PJ in fact, that fanbase was big, well, much bigger than the CL fanbase. There has to be an overwhelming difference in percentage between LL and CL. Your 80/90% range sounds dead on, I would even lean to the 90%. And yes, so true, it's not just about being anti CL, the Deadbeat hate is through the roof.

Not only that but CL have been a trainwreck since the beginning and are clearly wrong for each other.

Precisely. This show has yet to slide from that theme. Even with the mess we're currently in, CL are still being portrayed as a trainwreck and not meant to be. Honestly, this theme has existed since day 1, since the minute he pulled up on his motorcyle like a 16 year old boy and said that ridiculous comment to Lorelai,
right in front of his daughter, about taking her shirt off. Nice. CL and Deadbeat have always been portrayed one way and that's it. NEGATIVELY.

Isn't that what the show has been about. Lorelai not settling for his a$$ and instead raising Rory single. Very few want to see Lorelai end up with that piece of trash. I have faith DR and Rina know this, just like ASP knew. My biggest fear is having LL reunite 5 minutes before the show ends, a la RR from Friends.

With you. I do think that no matter what DR and Rina have complete understanding of this. I don't feel like they'll slide too much from ASPs vision, I think we're safe, I'm still slightly uncomfortable (thanks Creek) but when really thinking about it, it only makes sense they are on the same page as ASP and well, on the same page as the
real story of this show. CL being meant to be has never been a part of it and I think the future episodes and the rest of the series for that matter will continue to demonstrate this.
The last minute reunion will suck and unfortunately, it could be a reality. You're right though, this is the biggest worry actually. No doubt.

Yeah I hope so too, I do. I hate that Rina thinks the only thing that is interesting are these lame OOC romantic triangles that never happen in real life. Its such an overused plot on TV. But like you Im hoping for some respect like she always gave Everwood.
|
I will never understand her triangle obsession. I don't understand why she loves it so much. It's cheap, lazy, unrealistic writing more times than not. Why go there? I think it's probably the easy way out which pisses me off even more. Instead of being creative and keeping the meant to be couple together (LL) while constantly coming up with ways to make their romance interesting (it wouldn't have been that difficult to do!) they go the triangle, soap opera route instead. Less thinking and creativity that way. Wonderful.
Yeah, I do think the respect factor is in our favor though. Rina did respect the story of
Everwood and especially the love story between EA. Never did she do anything too stupid, she always kept it in line and preserved so much about what made this show and that pairing so amazing. I hope she remembers this as she gives her two cents about LL, CL, and GG as a whole.

It makes me sick to think Lorelai isn't smart enough to realize Deadbeat is a deadbeat and their friendship/relationship (whatever it is) is so demented. Hello shes 40, has raised a kid alone, and runs a business. How can she not see Deadbeat's idiocy??? Its so obvious to everyone, including his own daughter.
|
Hell yeah. It's disgusting. So overplayed, so draining, so ridiculous. Time to move on already!

I have faith its only a matter of time before they get closure for good this time.

God I hope so. I'll rely on your faith to get me through.
