Ugh..you know ASP was going to do something to rattle us up..it's her!!! But I'm sorry..no not sorry..i LOVED it..my favorite episode is the last..but I'll head back into the living room to re watch again and again and again..to get the full feel and flavor.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the episodes. But the ending left me feeling cheated - as your favorite characters are probably Luke and Lorelai, mine is Jess. And the treatment of him left me bitter, so did the notion that the entire story that was planned ages ago was to morally downrail Rory to a point where her daddy issues are played out to the max and her career is still at a crossroads, and poor Jess is left pining with probably the worse treatment in the entire revival.

The episodes were great, and I really did enjoy everything, but just knowing that we've spent 10 years speculating and wishing and hoping when this was going to be the ending all along is depressing.

What did you want for Jess?

I'm happy we got Logan scenes, though I'm not happy with the kind of Logan we saw... Since I feel like he outgrew that part of him in S7... and yet again no happy Logan in the end.

The only guy that got a good ending was Dean.

Should we rename this thread to General Revival discussion?

Overall, I think it's a shame the story wanted to pack so many different characters and backstory in. It would have been more focussed if not everybody had made a cameo. And there are definitely some things I didn't like, like the Stars Hollow musical. I will never ever watch it again. And it was weird how they ended Paris and Doyle's story like that. But other than that, I think seeing the main characters and their storylines was lovely and well done.

As a JJ, I cried so hard when Lorelai told Luke they should get married. That's all I hoped for, so for me, that's all I needed for it to be a success.

I really hated all the wasted screen time on the Stars Hollow musical. I mean if it was a play based on L/L or Lorelai and Rory fine, it has some meaning then but it was completely pointless and specifically just a way for Amy to throw in another Bunheads actor. I counted 4 (which was 4 too many in my opinion). I could've done without them all.

I honestly adored Peter and Jason's cameos but maybe that's cause I have a soft spot for both of them in my heart. They also weren't completely pointless to the story.

I swear Kirk's pig got a bigger storyline then most of characters.

Brining back Tristan for 1 second when it wasn't even Chad Michael Murray was completely pointless. Like why was that necessary? I'm sure Paris could've gone into her rant some other way. On the note of Paris, she was phenomenal. Her face when Hep Alien was playing is one of the best moments of the entire revival.

Rory seemed so OOC the entire time. Not preparing for interviews, just expecting a job to be handed to her, not really having a drive/passion anymore (for journalism), all the cheating. It just seemed like she was worse off then when we last saw her. Like she learned absolutely nothing in these past 9 years. I get that she was never a perfect character it was just all of these things combined didn't make her seem like Rory to me.

I think the problem with Rory is that everybody expects her to be perfect, because she is a good student (top of her class at Yale), but that doesn't mean you have all the character traits necessary to be very successful in life. You might have a drive to be great in school and when you are of school-going age, you really don't know any better. But once school ends and real life starts, you might not be able to live up to all those expectations.

Those, to me, were highlights where the show seemed to remember it's supposed to be funny!

I was loving the occasional wink to Twin Peaks, too.

I thought that was pitch perfect. Paris, for all of everything, being brought low and hyperventilating over high school stuff was funny, endearing, and if she'd seen him without ever showing him to us/the camera, it'd be weird. It would stand out too much.

I LOVED it. I absolutely adored every minute of it. I laughed and I cried and it was just the perfect amount of Gilmore I needed (and I honestly wish for more). The minute I heard "Reflecting Light" I was bawling my eyes out. As for the ending, I liked it more than I thought I would. The circle of life and all of that but most importantly I liked how it tied their stories together but in a different way. I am still so happy and shocked at how Jess was portrayed and when he gazed through that window, I thought my teenage Rory/Jess shipper heart would burst. The parallels between Christopher/Luke and Logan/Jess was a really great touch as well. Ah, I just adored it!!

I definitely do not expect her to be perfect but we already had her being the other woman [with Dean]. And she was so angry when Logan "cheated" on her during their whole Ross/Rachel debacle yet she had no problem sleeping with him while she was in a two-year relationship with Paul and he had a fiancee. I mean that goes beyond the frame of perfection. Now that was just her being selfish. You said no to his proposal years ago.

Whether you're good in school or not I think everyone knows to be prepared for an interview or have things to talk about when you get there. You don't go in completely unprepared which is what Rory did. Rory always studied like crazy until she made herself crazy and I'm supposed to believe she didn't prepare for a job interview (whether she wanted it or not)?

I had that issue with Rory too...

I think she really lost interest in journalism.

And as for her hooking up with Logan, he gave her an ultimatum. Doesn't mean she stopped loving him right there and then. And I can see (have seen) situations where a hookup happened after the relationship is over. I mean, her being in London and not knowing anyone except for Logan? They were together for a reason. And Logan was always the cheating kind, so I can see him taking advantage as soon as the opportunity arose. And her falling for it. And I don't think it's anything but human. And not all that ooc for Rory.

I loved that! I don't think there was enough Jess in the revival. Would have loved seeing him be Luke's best man and Rory being Lorelai's maid of honor.

That absolutely killed me, I was so done.

Screaming internally (of happiness) and crying tears (of joy) on the outside.
