I like them getting to talk more in this version For their first conversation it was just Aang behind bars and now it's both of them

Yes The Secret Tunnel song was totally there for the fans and I appreciate it Even Sokka got to jam a little to the first song

Bumi nailed the eccentric parts of the character! He was definitely harsher toward Aang in this version, but with my second watch I decided it was worth it to see their relationship mend by the end. Shoutout to the Flopsie statues!

The tale of two lovers being a tale between two women!

Zuko and Iroh came out swinging both physically and emotionally!! We were hit with Leaves from the Vine multiple times

Aang never waterbending. That was the biggest surprise to me concerning his character.

It was really interesting to see characters intersecting that never have before I really came around to it when I watched it again and appreciated the way they were able to incorporate so many characters despite the constraints. The Freedom Fighters looked like they walked right out of the animation! Jet is sure to be brought back into the show in the future so it's great that they introduced him

Yeah it took me a bit to warm up to Bumi at first. I liked seeing their friendship at the end of the episode and I think I'll like it even more when I rewatch.

Oh the sukko "assasination". It's different but well done.

The arrival at the northern water tribe was so epic. Love the looks of it.

Yue! I love amber in this role (the wig looks a little fake though. But otherwise great look.

Ok but why is Pakku suddenly played by a white guy when everyone else is asian or native?? :irk:

Oh we get to see avatar Kuruk wow.

Oh I love the Yue backstory with the fox, it gives her and sokka's relationship more depth. Def a good change there.

Only negative aspect there, Yue calling off her engagement, I thought in the cartoon that made the situation more dramatic and tragic, here not so much. But I can live with it.

Oh no aang discouraging Katara is not a good move from him. But I get him after what Kuruk said.

The fight of Pakku and Katara was great. But Pakku not changing his mind and staying subborn was a bad change by the writers, Katara being able in the cartoon to change their rules so that also women can bend was a great and imo also important part of the story. It made zero sense they would change that. Tbh quite disappointing, I must say out of all the changes in season 1 they did, this is by far the worst, it's also the only one that really doesn't work imo.

Omg momo is so cute trying to eat snow.

Oh they put the hot air balloon attack in this episode instead of the northern air temple episode like in the cartoon, that' interesting.

That's an interesting twist with the moon and ocean spirits becoming physical once a year and the fire nation choosing that special day to attack. Gave the attack more sense aside from them wanting the avatar.

Oh momo being heroic is awesome, but I was so scared for him.

The whole water spirit part is so epic.

Zuko and Zhao fight yay.

The whole Kaiju rampage against the fire nation fleet looks so badass.

Sokka's And Yue's story imo was done better in the live action show than in the cartoon, it felt a bit rushed and short in the cartoon to me.

I loved the Netflix The Last Airbender season finale. It was so well done and epic. I may have missed some of the Zuko/Aang interaction from the cartoon book one finale, but other than that, I thought it truly did the story justice. It was probably even more epic than the cartoon finale.

Oh azula is the one who took omashu in this version.

Ok one minor negative thing that I want to mention: No moon-spirit Yue saying goodbye to sokka, that is one thing, I think they really should have had towards the end and didn't.

Momo almost dying what oddly the thing that had me the closest to crying in the show.

I kind of missed that scene too. It always got me emotional when I saw it in the cartoon so I do think they missed something with it in the show.

All of the fighting and waterbending looked amazing this episode. It was truly epic, I felt like I was watching a movie with a huge budget and theatrical release.
