-Love that they're starting from the very start and showing how the attack on the air nomads came about. We know it happened, but it's cool to see the backstory. Also Rae called it.
-Holy moly Sozin just incinerating that guy 5 minutes in *glances at the show's PG rating*
-The iconic intro and Kyoshi's voice It looks so good in live action. This is also a good intro for the people who aren't familiar with the show at all.
-Omg Aang in the opening shot looking exactly like the cartoon
-The air temple looks so cool! So many things for them to fly around on.
-"There may come a time when you wish you'd spend more time with your teachers" nooo this line is so sad
-So many sky bison!
-So Sozin deliberately picked a time when all of the airbenders would be together.
-Oh I like how it's just Gyatzo telling Aang that he's the avatar. He's so nice about it even when Aang doesn't want to accept it at first. Him telling Aang that they'll always be friends almost made me cry.
-Interesting the firebenders just fly Azula-style with their flames. They had war balloons in the cartoon.
-So much good airbending. This is an amazing fight scene It's good to see the airbenders fighting like hell to protect their home. We all know how that ends unfortunately.
-Oh no Gyatzo The poor kiddos had to watch that. This scene parallels beautifully with Aang flying in the storm (which are both beautiful scenes)
-The water tribe looks amazing
-Love Katara and Sokka's relationship already. They have the teasing siblings but also the fighting down.
-Katara staring up at the mysterious orb they've found while Sokka's just thinking about their boat is so them
-Oh would you look at that! Katara and Sokka are able to find Aang without Sokka even being sexist. Her trying to waterbend and doing it kind of my accident is a better storyline anyway. It;'ll make it even more full circle when she successfully waterbends for the first time.
-Dallas has Zuko's intensity down! We get some good Iroh wisdom right away.
-Ahhhh the iconic intro! From Gran Gran
-yay first Iroh tea moment!
-Iroh trying to imply that Zuko is better off being away from Ozai.
-The poor water tribe does not have much to defend themselves and it's just Sokka going out to fight
-The kids pelting Zuko with rocks was kind of funny
-"Let's go save that weird kid" needs to be a title one day
-Forgot to say this until now but Sokka being afraid about people finding out Katara's a waterbender is a good addition. It's totally understandable given what happened to their mother.
-Oh no the air temple
-Sokka going "oh is that all" after a really serious scene is so funny and Ian nails Sokka's funny line deliveries.
-Zuko pinning up that drawing of Aang with the voiceover of Aang saying how we'll do anything to get what's important is a nice tough. I like that they're already hinting at them having a lot in common.

Overall I really liked it! I thought the changes they made were great and actually help with the storyline. The bending and effects were great and I loved starting with Sozin's decision to attack the air nomads. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit clunky but I think that's because they tried to explain so much in the first episode. I bet it'll get better.

Why can everyone fly on this show even aang can fly without his glider and all the firebenders can fly. It was a bit of a silly change imo. I think only very powerful firebenders should be able to fly that way, zosin, ozai, azula.

I missed the aang turning into the avatar state when imprisoned on zuko's ship.
It was such a great moment in the cartoon and I was a bit sad they did not include it.

Btw i still think sokka was sort of sexist when he told katara she should do more things in the village (traditionally women's jobs) instead of coming with him fishing.
