I agree. Dragon Ball: Yes, Goku Did Fight Doraemon Back in the Day

Dragon Ball is a series that needs little introduction. Over the decades, the IP has become one of the biggest in Japan, and it has amassed a global fandom. These days, you can find Goku everywhere, and he's not the only anime icon with such clout. There are tons of other mascots, and yes – Goku really did pick a fight with Doraemon back in the day.

Seriously, it really did happen. Goku's voice actress Masako Nozawa brought the fight to television years ago on a variety program, and the star behind Doraemon was happy to play along.

Thanks to a resurfaced clip from Utabon, fans were reminded about the hilarious encounter this week on social media. The video is going viral once again as it shows Nozawa verbally sparring with actress Nobuyo Oyama. After all, the actress famously voiced Doraemon, and the cute cat has as much clout as Goku if not more so.

The back-and-forth is pretty hilarious, and you only have to close your eyes to imagine Goku and Doraemon arguing for real. If it came to trading blows, well – you can take bets with yourself as to how it would turn out. Doraemon can think on the fly, and we know the cat is craftier than most would expect. But in the end, a good strategy only goes so far against someone as strong as Goku.

But honestly? We'd like to think Goku and Doraemon would patch up this fight and become friends. Oyama and Nozawa seem to have nothing but respect for the other, after all. Plus, the latter star is tied to both roles. Before voicing Goku in Dragon Ball, Nozawa briefly voiced Doraemon in an anime before the series was canceled. So if anyone could sort out the characters' feud, it would be her!

Hi guys. The Doraemon blimp was at the Expo '70 Commemorative Park last Saturday in Japan to I believe celebrate the release of "Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia", which is set for release this Friday.

Yeah. It is not playing in theatres around here unfortunately. I think that ''Nobita's Sky Utopia'' has only been released in Japan thus far.

Yeah. I do not know if it will be released in North America. I have not found any release dates for ''Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia'' at this time here on D.V.D. or anything else.

According to Goo Ranking, the iconic robotic feline, Doraemon, is more powerful than One Piece's principal character, Monkey D. Luffy.

The anime community has deemed Doraemon stronger than One Piece's Luffy.

As detailed on Anime Senpai, the renowned Japanese ranking site Goo Ranking surveyed fans in Japan to determine what its users viewed as the most powerful anime character. According to this survey, which reveals the Top 41 strongest characters, the robotic cat Doraemon is more formidable than Monkey D. Luffy, sitting at the #10 spot, while the Straw Hat Pirate sits at #11. One-Punch Man's Saitama holds the #1 spot on the list.

About Doraemon

Doraemon first appeared on the anime scene in December 1969 with the debut of his titular manga series. Created by Fujiko F. Fujio, this manga chronicles the adventures of Nobita Nobi and his robotic companion Doraemon, who travels back in time from the future to help the young boy with his everyday problems. While Doraemon is not physically powerful, his four-dimensional pocket makes him a formidable force, granting him access to futuristic gadgets that allow him to do just about anything, such as teleport, turn invisible and even give people superpowers.

Unlike Doraemon, Luffy earned his #11 ranking because of his incredible physical abilities, bolstered by his control over the spiritual force known as "Haki."
