RD was only good in S1. Then the show started going off the rails bit by bit.

I stopped watching a while ago. I tried hate watching it...but it became too much of a chore.

It's crazy how a series can have a good first season, then becomes something totally different the next season. Another thing that helped S1 was that it was only 13 episodes. When S2 premiered, I said this is some bull$!#^. I cannot pinpoint which episode I stopped recording it, but it was way before the season was over. Now, Manifest was a show I dropped early S1. Speaking of Archie. Who use to watch Archie's Weird Mysteries?

I love Manifest but I only caught after S4 was for sure happening: I had only watched the Pilot before.

The sophomore slump is a real thing though…because I think shows think they need to do too much to keep people watching when all fans want is the same quality.

Of course, it is. I've talked about it many times, but Riverdale became something else. All kinds of magic, time travel, serial killer bs. The list goes on and on. It just went all over the place. How many genres can you fit into one series? Nancy Drew and Veronica Mars are victims of the sophomore slump, but WM didn't become Supernatural. ND didn't become The West Wing. Even though they wish their writing could touch early WW.

Looking back, S2 of ND was loads better than S3. At least it all tied together in a way that made sense.

Oh, it's definitely better than S3 looking back. It will also be better than S4 given what they are wasting their time on. I still cannot believe it. I still had a mustard seed size hope that they would actually do right by us in S4.
