Congrats to Roger on winning his 20th grandslam. I stayed up and watched the entire match. Cilic played very well. I can see him making more finals this year.

As for the black and pink outfits I believe they were the Nike outifts were the Australian Open.

Some really great WTA matches this AO open. Halep-Davis stood out, as well as Kerber-Halep, and the final.

I agree. I love it when the players are trying really hard.

Here is an update from the latest events.

First of all, the Davis Cup first round was held this past weekend, which was missing a lot of the top stars. Team USA got a rare win on clay with a 3-1 victory over Serbia, reigning champions France defeated the Netherlands 3-1, Belgium defeated Hungary 3-2,; Italy, Spain, Germany and Croatia defeated Japan, Great Britain, Australia and Canada respectively 3-1 and Kazakhstan defeated the Fedrinka-less Switzerland 4-1.

Meanwhile on the ladies' side, Petra Kvitova won the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy singles title, while Vera Zvonareva and Timea Bacsinszky won the doubles title.

So that's the latest update from the tour.

Next up on the schedule this week will be the Sofia Open, the Ecuador Open, the Open Sud de France and the first round of Fed Cup.

You're welcome, Nikki.

In some injury news, Nole just had surgery on his elbow, which has troubled him in the last couple of years. I had a feeling that it would come to this. Hopefully Nole will take his time in recovery and come back strong.

Here is an update from the tour.

First of all in Montpellier, Lucas Pouille won the Open Sud de France.

In Sofia, Mirza Basic won the Sofia Open.

Also in Quinto, Roberto Carballes Baena won the Ecuador Open.

Meanwhile on the women's side, the first round of Fed Cup was held this past weekend.

The Williams Sisters and Coco Vandeweghe led Team USA to a 3-1 win over the Netherlands in Asheville, North Carolina.

Also The Czech Republic defeated Switzerland 3-1; France defeated Belgium 3-2 and Germany defeated Belarus 3-2.

So that's the story from this past weekend's events.

Next up on the schedule this week will be the ABN ARMO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, the Qatar Total Open, the New York Open and the Argentina Open. Fed and Stan are scheduled to return to action in Rotterdam along with Tomas Berdych, Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov, while Maria, Carolina, Simona Halep, Elina Svitolina and Karolina Pliskova will be headlining the Qatar Open.

In fact we got an early update from Doha where Monica Niculescu upset Maria 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Disappointing result for Maria.

Roger Federer will be #1 on Monday. He's the oldest man to reach #1.

I've been watching some of the Qatar Total Open. It's the only tennis tournament on tv here.
