Thanks for the news.

I think the Hawks have a good chance but there's not much space for them in the East. There's the Heat, Raptors, Celtics, Nets, Pacers, Sixers and Bucks that should almost certainly make the playoffs. That's 7 spots filled. The Wizards made a few upgrades and John Wall is back right? And who knows what the Hornets will do? Again they have a good chance but it might be tough.

He is, but isn't there on talk that Wall might get traded?

Yeah. 1 trade scenario is Wall to Detroit for Blake Griffin. Another is to Chicago for Otto Porter Jr. & Thaddeus Young. Charlotte resigned Biyombo & signed Hayward, but needed apparently to overpay for Hayward.

In the East Atlanta & Miami I think will make the playoffs in the Southeast. Detroit & Milwaukee I think in the Central, & Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, & Toronto I expect to make the playoffs in the Atlantic Division. The Pacers could very well make the playoffs, but Detroit I think has added players that with good chemistry they have talent to get into these playoffs & certainly get a better record than Indiana & Charlotte.

Obviously something could happen last minute but it doesn't seem like there's been traction in a John Wall trade. You'd think they would have done something by now since preseason games start in 2 weeks.

I'm not sold on the Pistons at all. I think they have some decent players but it's sort of a mishmash of pieces and I think too much of their success depends on Blake Griffin.

I forgot about the Magic, I think that's another team that could be fighting for that last spot as well.

OK. Some trade news. Reportedly John Wall & a 1st round draft pick being traded to Houston for Russell Westbrook.

Thanks for the news. I'm interested to see how that works out for both teams.

I'm watching game 3 of the NBA Finals on YouTube & Utah & Chicago scored a total of 27 points in the 1st quarter of that game. If you like defense, that's a good series to watch. I know it's quite different than the NBA currently.

That's when I LOVED the NBA and watched all 82 games. Defense at its best!

Now, I only watch the playoffs.

Definitely different times. I enjoyed it so much more back then.

Yeah. I forgot though that ultimately the Jazz scored I believe only 55 points in that game & got blown out by giving up over 90. In the mid 2000's "D" was being played pretty well, particularly by the better teams in that time, such as Detroit, Indiana, L.A. Lakers, & San Antonio. I thinl in that 2004 Eastern Conference Finals matchup between Detroit & Indiana there times where getting to 70 points by either team was tough.

Detroit and Indiana were nasty defensive teams especially Detroit back then.

You didn't watch back then? Preseason NBA games are beginning. It's Portland vs. Sacramento set to begin less than 25 minutes. Should be fun to see the changes made by these 2 teams. Kanter is back for Portland while Hassan Whiteside is with Sacramento, among other changes. Marvin Bagley is healthy. This is exciting to me.
