It was fun to watch.

Although it was hard to watch so many of the top males have problems.

Watching the men's long program was quite painful. With this being an Olympic year many of them were very tired. Also putting so much technical content in their programs is dangerous. Don't get me wrong I enjoy seeing quads but think they're over doing it. Look no further then Yuzu who got injured year doing quads this year.

On another note many skaters are participating in Stars on Ice in Japan. They have an amazing line up: Scott & Tessa, Patrick Chan, Katelyn, Eric and Meagan, Javi, Nathan, Shoma, Evgenia and Alina.

Yeah, there's a lot of criticism. People complain about how there's no artistry. It's all about jumping and not artistry.

Will that be on TV?

I agree there is definitely a lack of artistry in figure skating. I'm a fan of the quads but I don't want to see someone just going from jump to jump.

I don't believe it will be on tv but you can find many of the skates on youtube. Search 2018 the legends gala or stars on ice 2018. There are many great clips.

Sadly, it's become a jumping contest.

Thanks for the info.

You're right. Several of the skaters who were more artistic like Patrick and Javi are ending their careers. We still have Yuzu but lots of the younger skaters aren't too great in the artistry.

You're welcome. I watched some of the clips. They had an on ice talk show but since it was mostly in Japanese and Russian I didn't understand what they were saying.

I just hope that current skaters like Nathan can work on their artistry. They can already do the jumps, but they can be better by being more artistic.

I wish there were some with subtitles.

I hope so too. Nathan is still young so hopefully he can improve I know Boyang Jin has been trying to improve his artistry as well.

I do too. The only one I understood was Javi because he was speaking in English. I have no clue what else was going on.

These young skaters grew up in a different time than the older more artistic skaters (Jason Brown). The sport kind of changed. So much emphasis on jumping.

I know what you mean.

I agree. I remember how beautiful Jason Brown skated, everyone loved his River Dance from the last Olympics. I know he planned on working on landing a quad but I know he got injured.

The Star on Ice tour in the US has started.

I will always love Jason's skating, but he couldn't compete with all the young jumpers.

Okay, thanks for telling us.

I did too. It was a shame he never could get the quad down. I know lots of skaters start working on the quads when they're younger so he was behind.

You're welcome. I'll check youtube to see if people post videos like they did for the Stars on Ice tour in Japan.

I enjoyed his artistry, and he was just a happy guy.

Thanks.

He really was. He had such a great personality and was so likeable. That usually can take you far in figure skating.

Someone has uploaded clips from Star on Ice on Youtube.
