AE: As an actor playing a queer character, do you have any thoughts about the LGBT Fans Deserve Better movement and the fact that lesbian and bisexual TV characters die off way more frequently than their straight counterparts? BTK: It’s something I’ve been paying attention to since Lexa–I was reading a list of lesbian and bi characters who died, and Bullet was a few years ago, but of course she’s on the list. I do worry about that sometimes. I had this conversation with Carlson [Young, who plays Brooke on Scream] and she had never heard about this. I explained it to her and she was like “Oh my God, you’re right but I never noticed it.” It’s definitely a concern. That's cool! I hope that all the young actors/actresses playing LBGT characters are aware of this movement that has started. It's cool to see them stressing the importance of it, and it makes their portrayals and their awareness of the story more real, I think.
