Adam Copeland, once known as "the Rated R superstar" Edge in the WWE, is playing Atom-Smasher on The Flash season premiere.

Here's the official word on Atom-Smasher:

"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."

It's worth pointing out that the comic book version of Atom-Smasher was a hero, and a member of the JSA. Then again, the whole "hero becoming a good guy" thing is certainly worth a try, here. The question is, will they hint that the character is the descendant of another costumed adventurer? And with Jay Garrick making the journey over from Earth-2, does that mean that's where Atom-Smasher comes from? We'll find out in October!

Who is Zoom, you ask? He's an evil speedster, of course! He's of the Reverse-Flash mold, although I can't quite imagine that they're going to put him in quite the same yellow costume as Eobard Thawne wore.

Zoom was created by Flash executive producer Geoff Johns and artist Scott Kollins back in 2001. I won't get too deep into the specifics of his origin here, but in short: Hunter Zolomon was a CCPD police officer who, because of a Flash-related incident, becomes kind of "unstuck" in time. As a result, he doesn't move fast in the traditional Flash sense, but rather, he alters the speed at which he moves through time. He's also faster than both Barry Allen and Jay Garrick.

Now, because of the way Eddie Thawne went out at the end of season one, I can't help but feel there's a certain similarity here. Also note Zoom's blue speed trail, which sure looks like the singularity energy from the season finale. I could be wrong, though. It's happened before!

Barry Allen will also have a new love interest when the show resumes. Patty Spivot, another Central City CSI, will be played by Shantel VanSanten. She's been hanging around the DCU since the late '70s, and became a regular character from the first issue of the New 52 relaunch of The Flash comic.



Other news to come out of SDCC includes confirmation that we'll meet more Flash villains Mirror Master and Dr. Alchemy this season, and the promise that Wally West is indeed on the way!

If you said that the logo background is now the more comic book accurate white instead of the red that we had in season one, you win!

I asked Grant Gustin if that was going to be the norm for The Flash season 2, and he said, "yes, that's mine," but pointed out that it wouldn't be until around episode three that they'd make the switch. Funny enough, the comic book logo has just recently been changed to red to look more like that of the TV series!

The Flash Season 2 Spoilers

Victor Garber confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that both he and Robbie Amell will show up on The Flash season 2 premiere as Firestorm.

Firestorm was a nice visual, and quite a powerhouse during his episodes of The Flash season one. But he wasn't quite the character we know from the comics. One of Firestorm's key abilities is the ability to transmute matter into other forms, something that we never got to see.

Well, it turns out we almost got to see it, but it was left on the cutting room floor. Speaking to Screen Rant about the finale, half of Firestorm, Robbie Amell described a scene where we would have witnessed one of the character's key abilities.

"There’s a scene where Danielle [Panabaker]’s character is checking my temperature and giving me the once-over. I call Victor in the room and we merge, and I turn her thermometer into a daffodil. It was just like a really nice, sweet way of showing… because she’s asking if we’re going to be OK, and I’m like, “Actually, we’re getting pretty good at this whole Firestorm thing.” And we merge without even missing a beat and turn that into a flower. It was a nice moment, but ultimately it just didn’t hold any bearing on the plot."

He then reassures everyone that "matter manipulation I’m sure will be reintroduced." Maybe we'll see it in season two!

the therafrost accident while Caitlin is being chased by the H.I.V.E agents that will turn her into Killer Frost. If you remember she already said the her happiness won't last long, so that's an indication.

HIVE will be used in Arrow I think I remember hearing about it somewhere, I think it would be a really cool twist having the Trickster do it Hamill has played those parts before as of matter fact this is Hamill doing the voice as the guy who creates Freeze, and don't get me started on him playing as The Joker.
