hmm i am not fully sure. I think i read a fanfic about how she was first rude but then turned to be nice to him. but well maybe she would like him from the start. i would have loved to see and know that

Yes Regina back then wasn't as confident as she is now so I imagine that they knew each other as teenagers and love grew from there

well there is that deleted scene in which regina talks to her dad about daniel before the wedding to the king. but I somehow think that he knew before.
