I hope we see little Mer again. It'd be hard to show Ellis flashbacks and not show her daughter... considering this entire storyline affects Mer directly.

Exactly.. and when it was just the two of them.. like I said I won't be surprised if Ellis put Mer somewhere when she was heavily pregnant/close to birth

And little kids often repress memories. I know I don't remember everything from when I was 5. I also had a really rough time at that age, because my dad died when I was 4 and that time of my life was an emotional roller coaster. I remember bits and pieces, but the details are sometimes foggy. So, it's possible that Ellis could have been pregnant and just wore heavy clothing and Mer didn't even notice.

My mom had my sister at 7, and I didn't know she was pregnant until she told me. Looking back, most of what I remember about my childhood isn't because I knew it on my own, it's because my parents told me. I don't really remember my dad being sick. I remember my parents telling me he was sick. Children only understand what their parents explain to them; that's how they learn. So if Ellis didn't tell Mer stuff, of course she wouldn't have known what was going on. It's like she didn't know her mom was having an affair with Richard until she was much older. She figured it out on her own. Seeing Richard visiting her mother triggered memories from her childhood where she wouldn't have understood the situation until it was put into context. I imagine that's what will happen when she finds out about Maggie too.

Definitely since it's been confirmed it's Richard's kid. Ellis met Richard when Mer was three. I'd guess Maggie is 5-6 years younger than Meredith. Thatcher left Ellis when Mer was 5.

Also, keep in mind that Mer is older than the others in her year - she didn't go to med school right away. She took time off from school and also went to Europe. She and Cristina were both older than everyone (because Cristina had two degrees). Lexie and Mer were about 7 years apart, I think, and Lexie was 24 in S4.

Yes, I say this half sister is about a little more than 5 years younger, since they left Seattle to Boston when Mer was about 5 years old. Ellis had to be already pregnant than.

Otherwise more people would have known she'd been pregnant. . .though I still think Richard knew and still refused to leave Adele. Don't know if Thatcher knew. Though it's too bad Thatcher is still a regular on Scandal, because I wish he could make a return. Realistically, he would have returned when Lexie died, but he was already on Scandal then.

That's my prediction. Shonda said the 3x1 flashback and the Time Warp flashback literally took place months apart in the timeline. I think the Time Warp FB took place before the 3x1 FB. I bet the 3x1 FB is when they were arguing over the pregnancy. If Shonda and the writers first started talking about introducing her in S3/4 time (when Lexie was introduced), it'd make sense that they'd to write it into the story then.
