I'm sure it's a lovely fic, but too AU for my taste. I'm not a huge fan of storylines where Meredith and Derek don't meet in a bar. The AU episode of season 8 was barely bearable for me. I only tolerated it because it explored the dynamic of Ellis without Alzheimer's and working in the same hospital as Meredith married to Richard. It's something that could have happened if one decision had been different - Richard chose Ellis over Adele. I don't mind those type of AUs. It's not incredibly far-fetched.
