This movie is weird. I'm just thinking "why don't they move out of the apartment complex" instead of eating dogs and going insane. Guess the rent is really really cheap then.

Yea I never got that part of the story either. Maybe they will change that in the movie and make it like there being prevented from leaving the building buy the people who live on the lower levels of the building characters like wilder. If not I hope there able to make it believable some how.

If they left there wouldn't be a story. The High-Rise is a tower block that mirrors society's class distinctions and the animosity between them. The inhabitants in the building are isolated from the outside world because they have everything they can imagine in the tower. I can't remember if some residents did move out, but a majority of them including Tom's character stayed.

Yea but what about after they ran out of food and water and all the murders that were going on you'd think they would just leave but still they stay. They stopped going to work how did they pay there bills after so many months. Wouldn't there family's, Friends and coworkers try to find out why they hadn't seen them in awhile. Anyways I'm still very excited for this movie can't wait.

Like I mentioned they were basically living in isolation from the outside world because they had everything in the tower. As time passed they all began to lose their sense and slowly descended into what the building did to them. I guess the thought of moving out never crossed their mind because High-Rise was all they had and stepping out of their apartments would mean they would get hurt or killed because of the madness that was going on. The entire idea of the story is survival of the fittest

^ Hopefully no wonder it's taking so long for a trailer to come out.

I can wait until December for it. I thought it would be years before we see it like OLLA

I can wait for the movie, but my patience for the trailer is running thin.

I know, I haven't seen anything in months!

And I have to say, I read the book, and it was really unpleasant. Like really, really unpleasant. I know it wasn't supposed to be a feel good kind of book, but even so... Jesus Christ, some of the stuff that happens in that book.

I finished it, and I was just like, 'Dammit, Tom, the things I do for you.'

I know right? I wonder what the hold up is. I was really hoping to see this come out this year, but looks unlikely. This is the one I am looking the most forward to as well. Just my luck

I can even settle for those flimsy teaser trailers that last less than 30 secs. I'll take anything.
