I liked the episode as a whole. It's actually one of my favs of the series. I don't mind claude and leith, but the last time I saw claude she was being annoying.

One would have to know some history to know Mary even married in France tbh, it was a short marriage and a reign of little to no relevance, the two were young and all. What most people know of Mary was that Elizabeth had her executed. Still, it's hard to be shock at Francis's death considering the prophecy and I guess most people looked him up at least to see if Nosty was right!

Yes, I actually knew a lot about Mary Stuart and her time as Queen later and her problem with Elizabeth, but I never heard lot of her life in France and her marriage to Francis. It was after the pilot when I looked for more infos and was surprised when I read that they don't even know if Francis and Mary consummed their marriage, that they cared for each other but simply were too young to act like Reign's MF

That could be true. They were both so young. I was a history major in college and I do remember learning about Mary and Francis and how much they cared for each other. It was a very small section of my notes, but I remember thinking how incredibly sad and tragic it all was. I just remember feeling so sorry for Mary when my professor was explaining her story. Maybe it was the fact that I am Catholic, but I really sympathized with her.
By now, it's hard to imagine that anyone who is more than a casual fan of the show wouldn't know that Francis died in rl and that they are planning to stick with history. I can understand wanting to live in denial and hoping they will change history after all, but this season that is pretty much impossible. __________________

I'm also very conflicted. I first started watching Reign because of its historical references. I've come to love Reign because of the (mostly fictional) story of the relationship between Mary and Francis. I wish they would flush history, and stay with Frary and French Court until the series ends. With all of the talent they have, I'm sure that I will still like the show, but I will be disappointed if they cannot somehow make lightning strike again with Mary.
