I remember that wedding! And your right, Steve & Kayla in the early days were a lot like Jisbon. Steve was definitely a "bad" boy - a con man somewhat like Jane. He hadn't lost a family, but he was a lost soul. Kayla really saved him.

Jack and Steve, along with their sister Adrienne, are both the natural children of Jo and Duke Johnson. Duke was an abuser, and Jo gave up both boys for adoption to try and protect them. I think Steve was raised in the orphanage, but Jack was adopted by the wealthy Deveraux family.

Jo kept her youngest child, Adrienne, thinking that Duke wouldn't hurt her. Adrienne knew about her older brother Steve and came to Salem to find him. Later on they discovered that Jack was actually their brother Billy.
