Alice had given up and had decided to basically commit 'mental suicide'.

BTW, Will tries to play things like he's reluctant to help her and is only helping her because she promised him wishes, but when the Rabbit told him that Alice was in trouble, he didn't really hesitate to leap to her rescue, which says something about the kind of person he really is behind the facade he tries to show the world, and that really came through in this episode in the way he talked to Grendel and in his decision to burn the Knot.

I wasn't here either so I was surprised. But still an odd surprise for me. I'm not sure if I should be jumping for joy or should be worried about this SL.

IKR? I'm kind of warming up to Emma Rigby because of this reveal.

It's hard to tell by the look on the Red Queen's face upon seeing the Knave in the Forget-Me-Knot if she still has feelings for him but with Will/Knave, I can say the same. He said that it's over but is it really?

The softer side to her character makes me more open to her character.

There's still something there on both sides. I hope we get more on their relationship before and after Wonderland.

Another surprise to me was Jafar's partnership with the Red Queen. It seemed like the worst enemies built an evil alliance overnight, saving the sticks for Alice while pulling off the carrots for each other! What an extraordinary speed.

It's weird how in episode one they were against each other and now they're strong. I totally agree with you. XD

On Jafar's part, he doesn't see the Red Queen as a threat and believes he can keep her in line through potential threats and the promised spoils.

Although he can be a smooth con artist at times, it shows that Jafar grew up with limited social interaction after being (spoilers if you haven't seen all the episodes yet)



Most of his relationships since then have been with minions, who know he can kill them with a thought, and people he plans to be working with for maybe ten minutes. With that very limited background, I can see why he doesn't understand that the Red Queen may not have already forgotten his nearly killing her.

On the Red Queen's part, she's more of a survivor than I gave her credit for at this point. She knows how to wait and how to play a role if that means surviving or coming out ahead. I'm betting she learned magic from Cora. Doing that--and surviving that, much less surviving and keeping her crown--takes someone who knows how play up to a wizard who can squash her like a bug.
