Maybe it's a preference from the actor himself.

Maybe Michael Fishman doesn't mind being a part of the show but want's to be more secondary then main?

I think it is because the drama around Darlene or Becky is more exciting. Even during the original Roseanne. Most of the drama was around them, and while DJ had some stories. He was little more invisible. And only had more to do in the later years when Sara and Lacy had outside interests and their time on the show was lessened. I do hope if it does indeed come back next season, we get more of DJ's story. And who knows how the next few episodes go.

DJ even quipped about how he was in the shadow's of his two older sisters. I am curious to know more about DJ's little family with Geena and Mary.

Oh yeah

Do you all miss Roseanne? Or can this show continue without her?

I don't miss her to be honest. I like the show and how it's more focused on the family dynamics of each of them.

This season is a stronger, and so far more interesting. I don't know if it's because the drama of off screen is no more and if it would be the same if the Roseanne eruption hadn't happened, and they had time to grow back into the characters but it has also given the show a new life as they figure out where their lives are going. And more for Dan to go as he adjusts to the idea of losing his soulmate, and still have plenty of life to go.

It's a interesting dynamic.

Well it was always more focused on Roseanne and what her and Dan were going through, with her, we're seeing how they handle her being gone and we get insight into their own personal sub family dynamics, and I like that.

It's such a gut punch for Dan. And we get to see the range in Dan as he deals with learning to live life without her, and how to cope and the daily drama with his kids and now grandkids. It brings a new life to the concept of the Conners. And they are all shiny this season.

And the most important aspect for me is how relatable it is.

^^ I agree. I really enjoyed last nights episode but once again couldn't help but notice DJ's absence with the exception of the opening scenes.

It's weird since this was a storyline on him maybe losing his job. I like that Gina stuck for him

But to, isn't Gina supposed to be in Afghanistan? I'm confused on her story too.
