I just hated how they developed Haley's music storyline. They introduced her interest in making music in late s1 and by mid s2 she was an overnight pop star. Way to make me not give a damn about that aspect of her character. I like to contrast that with Lane's music storyline on Gilmore Girls because that one, while it did not end well, was built up gradually and so nicely. Oth could have done that with Haley but of course didn't because its writers love bad writing too much. (Brooke's fashion storyline in s3 was even worse. Came out of nowhere and was unwatchably boring.)

Also, on a less important note, why did s2 writers (and maybe oth writers in general) pretend punk and rock (and emo, I guess) were the only genres that existed? I thought it was hilarious that Chris was going around arrogantly defending the honor of punk and then playing cheesy pop. Nothing wrong with that per se, but there so would have been some local elitist punk teen (or, even worse, adult) calling him a poser, especially back in the early 2000s, when ppl were still tribal about genres.

Nathan in s2 was just ugh. Hard for me to care about the poor rich teen married dude.

Peyton is awesome, generally speaking. Not so much from 2.10 to 2.whatever-the-last-episode-was. Not here for the babysitting or Jake.

Gilmore Girls got a lot wrong, but they got Lane right. Music was always a big part of her, the band was a long term thing that didn't take off overnight. It actually worked. It just didn't work with Haley at all, the tour storyline in itself was so forced!

I don't really think they're that toxic. But to each his own. I am trying to get into LP, Really I tried. I am done with season 2. I like BL better than some of the later stuff. But I love Clay's pairings, don't need to keep saying it.

They definitely were toxic. May as well have been the definition of toxic considering how awful they were for each other. You only need to see how insecure Brooke was when she was with him and how much of an afterthought she was to him to see that.

all the characters o the show were famous somethings. it made no sense. the show just got so bad.

Hate to say it but BL was the definition of toxic, for all the reasons I listed before. They define what a toxic relationship is. It wasnt good for either of them.
